Blog posts on my website

Ok, so I have a website, it has a main front page, a sales page and a blog page so I can add content to my site continiously.

When I make a blog post is it the same as an article? Do I use my keywords for my sales page/front page...the reason i ask is surely if my post uses those keywords their is a chance the post would rank above the webpage i want it too link too?

If you have a blog that is connected to your website that I assume has a sales page I would concentrate on offering REAL value on your blog.

    Don't worry about keywords.

Simply offer something that they cannot get somewhere else and you will find that you get traffic to your website.

Of course by writing an in depth blog post that contains some awesome information in your niche you WILL get ranked anyway because you will use keywords anyway.

Pretty much yes but of course you should use some basic SEO. Anyway if you want to sell you should try to build connections with influential bloggers on your niche. You can do this by being a regular commentator at your targeted blogs and then ask the bloggers to write guest posts on their blog. This is the best way to establish your self as an expert on your field and get not only traffic but most importantly sales since the number one factor in deciding to buy something online is trust and the reputation of the seller...

I always use the most relevant keywords for each post and it seems to work ok.
