Well, maybe that's a bit harsh.

I was wondering if anyone knows, preferably someone with experience (I'm quite new to IM), why google takes your website away for a while.

I have created 2 websites, well they are blogs with a domain name, and I got ranked around page 4 then progressed to page 2 then about 2 weeks ago they both disappeared.

I know google does this but i'm feeling deflated cos both my blogs have been taken and they have not reappeared.

I know they are still in the system because when I search with quotes my blogs appear but in the broad search, they don't appear anywhere at all.

I'm now wondering if they will ever returm

Has anyone else experienced this but with the return of their site?

Thanks in advance

If it is a new site, it may just be Google doesn't have the same thing in all the datacenters yet. Also, sometimes if your site is being talked about on a few sites, that will give you a temporary boost, and then it will go back down when your site is not being mentioned as often.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

      Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, guess I will just have to wait it out. My other question is, is there any point in me creating links/articles etc to boost my site when it isn't there?

I now that is prob a stupid question to you wizards out there but I'm not sure if I sure bother putting the work in for them at the moment. In the past week I have been working hard creating links and it all seems for nothing. Or is it?

I noticed if I don't post to my blogs regularly the ranks fall.

There are a few of mine that I neglected for months, then put a post up, and boom, google "found" it again.

I noticed, for me anyway, that tag words help alot too.

    Just some thoughts.

Thanks guys for the vote of confidence.

Yes, that's right when I search for my site with the phrase in quotes, it comes up ok. But with a broad search without quotes it's absolutely nowhere and I've check through many pages.

    Cheers

P.s The weird thing is, with the phrase search it comes up but on page 5! There isn't much competition for the phrase and my web 2.0 all come up on the first page before my actual .com site.

      Very strange

Are you actively promoting these sites using web 2.0 sites like squidoo.com, etc ?

If not, do that. What you will find is that these web 2.0 sites will quickly outrank your blogs for your keywords because they are seen as authority sites by google (don't you hate how google plays favorites!).

But because you are linking to your blogs from these sites, they help your blogs rank better and you also get more traffic because people find the web 2.0 sites and click the link to get to your blog.

So go use some free web 2.0 sites and start building.

    Good luck!

    Cheers

        Small world

Glad you getting some value out of our free 12 day course. You should be finding you are getting some traffic from the web 2.0 sites, right? Make sure you are using the correct keywords you are looking to rank for as anchor text.

But also make sure you do not use the identical keyword for all links, mix it up a bit, will assist in making it more real.

        Good luck!

        Cheers

Yves it happens...it will get more consitent with time and your moves up and down the rankings will become more incremental and seem to make more sense.

Do NOT stop doing all your marketing, articles, etc. as this is what will get you that consistent page 1 result for your terms.

I think with Google if it is a new webpage, it may just be that Google doesn't have the same thing in all their web search results yet. I think if sometimes if your webpage is being talked promoted or disscussed on other sites, that will give you better search results and better SEO, and then decrease if your webpage is less prominent or less discussed in other forums or webpages. My 2 cents!
