Best way to Deliver Virtual Products?

I have a question that is probably simplistic for many of you, but new for me. I am a highly accomplished offline biz dev expert, and am now (for the first time) entering the realm of teaching my 30 years of skills to others.

We've recorded a bunch of modules (teleseminar and larger webinar files). I know I can deliver them as a physical product, and am setting up with a company to do so.

But I would also like to deliver the files electronically. Problem is...I don't know the best way to do so. Especially since some of the webinar files are quite large and would not send very easily in email (right now I use ZipSend, which is not automated).

So my question for you experts is: When someone purchases your information product, how do you automatically send the electronic files to them...especially the large ones?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Warm regards,

Dan Page

    Hi,

Probably the best way and especially if you have several files would be to setup a members' area. Visitor purchases, gets their own account info and access to the members' area where they can download or watch videos and other content. Amember is a good one time fee program or there are several others that are good, but charge a monthly fee.

I highly recommend that you check out e-junkie.com. For $5/month, they will handle your digital downloads when people make a sale. You can configure your account so that when people make a purchase, it automatically adds them to a mailing list through aweber.

After their purchase, your visitors are directed to a download page where they can download your product. They are also sent an email that you can customize which will have a download link in the email, and you can set it to expire after 3 attempts or 5 attempts (whatever you decide). That will prevent people from sharing the download link on forums etc.

For $5/month, they will give you unlimited transactions for your product (up to 10 products). In addition, your files are stored with them, though they use Amazon S3, so your files are actually stored and pulled from Amazon S3, which is like the biggest most dependable place on the planet to store your digital files, so regardless of how many people download the product at once, there will be no additional strain on your server for that part of the process.

So to summarize....use paypal for transactions, e-junkie to deliver the downloads, and aweber to add customers to your list. All 3 services can be integrated to work together flawlessly during a transaction. Of course...that's just my opinion.

Yes. A separate member area where they can view all your videos and teachings and once they get their user id and password after purchase they can download the files onto their computer. you can also put a CD so that they can purchase it from stores and view it.

I use DLGuard for product payment/delivery of electronic files. However, for very large files, I would set up a membership blog and list the downloads.

I use WishList plugin to set up a membership site.

  • I do this myself and use Amazon S3 for the file, Wordpress, Optimize Press theme and Wishlist Member plugin. Have a dozen different ones over time I can PM you an example since I'm not sure if it's a violation if I post a link here I got warned for things in the past that i thought where normal, so now I'm more careful.
