Hi All,

I have a great list of over 15,000 emails for one industry. How do I go about utilizing this to my advantage? Thanks

I am no expert on e-mail marketing, but I believe you will first need to establish a couple of things.

Is there a product you want to sell to them?

Is there something like a website which you would like to advertise?

Are you or can you become an affiliate of a company related to this niche?

As I said, I'm no expert - just using common sense right now. I hope I helped at least a bit.

Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will come along soon xD

Are they in/built using a professional AR service like aweber? if not the list can not be useful as far as the numbers are conerned.

when you say youhave all thes emails do you mean you have them in your AR account or just on your hard drive?

    what niche is it

if you hav 15k email addresses of prospects in a niche which have plenty of buyers then its easy

I'd like to set up some type of website, drive traffic to that site and somehow capitalize on it. The list is a private list I obtained (doesn't really matter how and I think I could make some money if I just found the correct service or product to market to these guys. The industry is the REO contractor industry and the main products that these guys purchase are lock boxes, & padlocks.

How did you acquire this list?

If this is an opt-in list (and I hope it is!), what did subscribers opt in to receive?

    How "fresh" is it?

Have you ever emailed this list before?

It is an opt in list and was given to me by a friend who owns a company that sells supplies to this industry. I've never emailed this list before. It is a fresh list

well if he just gave you 15k prospects that are all interested in a certain niche there must be a good reason behind it

generally if something sounds too good to be true then it usually is

where do you have these emails

do you have aweber or get response or some other professional AR service?

I have the list on my computer (spreadsheet). He gave me the list to try to figure something out. I would never try to sell the same things he is.

Most email delivery servces will not let you mail the list without a double opt-in, which will drop your list size by 90%, especially if they don't recognize you.

But you can drop them into a service like Sendgrid and warm the list up, a little bit at a time.

There are lots of products/services the REO Contractor industry would be interested in. But you need to establish some sort of rapport with them first. If you just beat them over the head with a "buy buy buy" message, they'll either ignore you or mark you as a spammer.

If you decide to take the next step, I'd recommend setting up a blog, give them some valuable content they'd really be interested in, then ask them what they would want to learn more about, in the realm of products/services. You can use Survey Monkey to do this...for free.
