Hey all, I was wondering whether it is against Ezine Articles terms of service to link to a website that automatically redirects to an affiliate website. I have seen quite a few people doing this in my niche that I am targeting. Thanks Pete |

I would doubt that you've seen it on Ezine Articles. You cannot link to an affiliate site. It must be your own domain. However, you can put links on your site to an affiliate site.

Yep what I mean is that it points to your own domain where you have a simple redirect that takes the visitor straight to the affiliates page. Not an actual affiliate link...

I haven't posted there in a couple months, but when I did you could use a redirect as long as it was your domain and was a top level domain like: yoursite.com/ It can't be yoursite.com/product or product.yoursite.com/ |

Sorry, I was wrong. Here are the facts from the horses mouth: "You declare that you will not send in any articles with direct affiliate links in them. We reject articles with direct affiliate links. It is ok, however, forward/redirect to an affiliate link from the top-level of a domain name you own. For example, it is permissible to forward to an affiliate link from: ... This is one of our many article quality standards. " Sorry, I couldn't show the examples. I don't have enough posts to display links! Even though it was just html code. Anyway, must be top level of the domain. |

If you are talking about a top level domain such as http://www.myredirecteddomain.com, then it is perfectly fine to redirect to an affiliate page. But you have to either create a php redirect page and save as index.html at your top level domain or simply use the forwarding and masking features that come with most domain admin. Hope it helps! |
