How do you generate organic traffic to a website?

Hello everyone, new to Warrior Forum. Although, I have been a member for a number of years, previously I was oblivious to the purpose of this forum until most recently.

I guess I need help with generating organic traffic to my website. At first I focused on optimizing it with keywords plus relevant and beneficial content for readers. I've been doing that for 7 years. Even though I have 500+ blog posts, i've come to realize that almost all of them were never optimized properly. I since started applying proper SEO techniques to new posts - but I have never been able to crack 100 visits/day. I feel like i'm stuck at 100 and can't seem to break that threshold.

Any help, tips, guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

By having content of such high quality that others with relevant websites voluntarily link to it because - one way or another - they want to share it with their own readers/subscribers/visitors.

And - these days - by avoiding "backlinking services", non-context-relevant backlinks, automated backlinks and mass-backlinking. As you can see from all recent threads like this: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6021235

I don't do much in the way of backlinking. I've heard way to many horror stories about linking to linkfarms and XXX sites so I stay clear away from it. Thanks Alexa!

To get organic traffic you must use only organic ingredients and get certified. CDFA > Inspection & Compliance > California Organic Program

But seriously for a blog you should do some keyword research. Find the terms you want to go after and build hub pages for those terms and link all of your relevant posts to those hub pages. Focus your seo work around your hub pages (not just your homepage) and interlink all of your content to said hubs.

The problem with blogs is individual posts can be weak and if not interlinked well they just disappear down the SERPs. With hub pages you can constantly be tweaking and adjusting, using the right keywords, and keeping fresh and relevant content available.

Alexa, you are the quintessential Warrior, you know that? Always giving great insights and truly helpful info and links. Rock on!

Blogreco, listen to Alexa on this. Google is coming around (finally) to fixing their "original sin" - giving way too much ranking power to backlinks. Read the tea leaves here and focus on superior quality content. Instead of time/money spent on backlink building (although that's still important - just be very picky), spend extra time on the quality of your content.

Without going into lengthy detail, I would also strongly advise you to use other content you create as "payment" for strong links back to your site. Approach webmasters with related (but not competing) websites. Think relevant but not an exact match for your niche. Make sure these are authority sites (high PR, well established, great content). Offer to let them use your content on their site in exchange for a link back. You might have to approach 10 site owners to get any bites, but all it takes is one and you're in business.

The advantages here are two-fold. You get just about the highest quality backlink imaginable PLUS very likely some direct traffic from your link in the content you supplied. Just make sure it's some of your best stuff. That will increase the likelihood of getting a taker.

Rinse, repeat weekly, and pretty soon you will have exactly what Google is looking for these days.

Thanks Tim! I guess fall short when it comes to social bookmarking, reading and commenting on other blogs. I have no clue why I believed for such a long time that SEO alone could do the trick. Boy was I wrong.

I have a blog and all articles are written by me. So, in Google Analytics I see that I have a 100% organic traffic.

Write content by yourself or hire a writer and you will get the same.

By increasing traffic from organic traffic, you only able to concern one thing which is SEO.
Target the more keywords or increase the SERP ranking. That is a must to improve organic traffic.
You need to do offline SEO and online SEO while most of profit keyword do have high competition.

      I agree.

Many at this forum would disagree but if you are planning to stay in this business for long (and I guess you are) then you should NOT START concentrating at SEO techniques.

Now, WHAT do I mean by that?
FIRST of all you should concentrate on value adding content for your user. That's what Google wants. You can use sneaky SEO tricks but Google has a whole army of employees fighting against sneaky SEO tricks making pages with less quality content flow up in front of better quality pages. Well, that's a way of putting it because I am sure what they are doing is the opposite. They are not fighting against SEO tricks but fighting to get their algorithm organizing the most value adding content to the SERP top.

When you have made sure you have fresh value adding quality content then you can use standard back linking and Social Bookmarking as a spice. Do not use it as your main SEO strategy use these methods as a spice only and concentrate on quality sites only when you are working on off page SEO.

Alexa Smith is completely right here especially if you can make other people to link to your site/pages and not to forget to make people link to your off page articles too is really powerful.

I agree with Zeus66 Google is finally coming around this mistake. Google did put too much value into backlinks and too little into on page quality and value. But if you know just a little about Google's history you remember that external link counting is one of the things that gave Google birth and growth into what it is today and therefore no surprise that they did balance the importance of external links a little too heavy. It might still is so....

Let me know if I can help you Warrior to Warrior.

      Good luck

Optimize all the blog posts/articles you have in your blog. (I am sure if you do some research on here you will find tons of guidelines to search engine optimization both website and content).

After that, do some social backlinking. You can use fiverr for this.

Then write an article or two and submit it to top article directoris creating backlinks to your site.

You can also go for some high PR backlinks - as I have heard, after the recent google updates, what matters is the quality, not the quantity of backlinks in most case.

If you have high quality content and done with above 3 steps, you should get a decent rankings for your website.

Higher rankings = Higher Traffic = Higher Conversions

Also, try to target variety of keywords than sticking to couple. This is something I heard after the recent google updates.

I have followed those steps and gotten results. If it worked for me, it could for anyone else too.

    Hope this helps.

    -Thanks
