Targeted Traffic Sales = Scam?

I've always wondered if the targeted traffic driving websites do any good other than increase Alexa ranking perhaps. Can someone shed light on this? In theory if a CPA offer is sent traffic this way, does it have any chance of working?

If someone has a reliable source for traffic generation and from that I mean paid traffic i.e. a million visitors for XYZ amount of money then please share.

Thanks!

Your question is kind of confusing, but I'll give it a try. When we talk about "targeted traffic" in IM, where are referring to traffic where the visitors who come to our pages have already exposed to the product or service we are offering. These people just need a nudge in the right direction. When we talk about said traffic, people who are doing searches using product-related keyword phrases convert into sales the best.

For example, someone who does a search for "weight watchers weight loss program" is more likely to purchase the actual product (if given a positive review & you're able to connect with your audience than someone who does a search for "how to lose weight fast" or something like that. The reason the second keyword is too broad is because there might be tons of ways to do it and even more products claiming to help the person to do it.

Does that make sense? I don't know of any products that teach PPC. I stay away from that. I've heard it can be really expensive and have heard of people's accounts being shut down with no real explanation. I would start with SEO first, and move into PPC later on so your whole business isn't lost or something, ya know?

    Good luck,
    Joey
