Default Anyone knows the free tools to secure the PDF file

Hey, Just curious to know how to secure any PDF file by disabling the options like taking print out, copying the content, taking snap shots. And adding password to edit the document.

Quick replies will be really appreciated.

There is no any external tool for securing already created pdf. Those features will be seen in your pdf creating software itself (if the software comes with it)

As said here in a post above, you have to use a tool to create the pdf file, while creating it, you can select various options (password protection, preventing printing, etc). You can use PrimoPDF to convert your MS Office docs to pdfs that can be protected.
Hope this info helps.

Password protect when you create it.

Obviously is only low level as the password can be shared around.

Lets face it if Bill Gates with all his millions can't fully secure windows then we have no chance.

Its just a part of the digital world.

A password just protects it from the honest people.

You can use the FREE software OpenOffice to do this. You just need to go to File >> Export As PDF >> Security and all of the options are there to protect your PDF.

Download it here: OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

To do this I use 'Writer' which is Open Office's word processor like Microsoft's Word - only free!

My favourite version of Open Office is the Novell Distro.

Password protection via Open Office when you create it is a great solution. Bear in mind that its only a low level security, but very efficient in the short term. Password protection tends to protect it from the honest people. Hope this helps you!

I was about to say this... I use open office to export as a pdf. You can set all that in security.

Use Acrobat (or outsource it to have it done) or Open Office. They both can do low level security. The next question is, what are you trying to accomplish by doing this. Is it something that is going viral and you want to protect it, or is it a bit of overkill.

I've used pdf995.com regularly, as this a great reliable source for continuous creation and security. Have used the aforementioned open office as well, which is very reliable and security conscious! Good to go either way!
