Newbie to IM...Where should I start, besides here of course!!!

So I am looking at getting my hands soaked (not wet) in IM. What is the best route for me to take to move forward? I am COMPLETELY new at this, no website, no backlinks, no anything.

Thank God I found this site to save me from the Vanquish X $1500 scandal...

Until I get some responses, however, I will keep reading the posts. The information in here alone could have me reading 40/hrs a week for a month...

Thanks in advance fellow warriors and have a splendid and prosperous week!!!

You need to start getting some funds to start. There are some options where you can get it done for free.

Then you'll need to decide on which methods you want to follow and take action!

      Welcome onboard.

Since you are out of funds, you could think of starting a service that does not cost you upfront money. One example could be to launch a Wordpress installation service for an inexpensive price on some frelance forum or Fiverr-like site. Or whatever you are good at doing.

Since you don't have cash, you need to invest time to get started. Even if you had cash, i would still say, invest time to get started.

Nothing can be as effective as getting your hands dirty. That's what makes you learn the best and succeed in the longer term.

    Hello WarriorInTraining

Welcome... There are tonnes of methods you can do to make money online. What you need to do is find out which method. From what I understand, you have absolute zero experience in Internet Marketing. And I know you are here to make money online.

    * So the best niche you can enter is make money online, because you are going to learn a lot and you can blog about what you learned, then recommend products as an affiliate etc and build it in to a solid business.

IMPORTANT Note: There will be all sorts of Gurus that will say you can't enter the make money online niche and that it's too competitive, but there is tonnes of room for new comers, as the industry is expanding day by day.

You must start from your self
Many beginner (or newbie) in IM, they have spirit only in first time and after get some money. In progress, where while they not get the money, they'll give up.

So, in my humble opinion is you must start from your self
It's not about how much money you have to start building your blog/website or pay some autoresponder to build a list. It's about how you can keep your spirit to start and still have the spirit even/till you success in this industry.

    Btw welcome to Warrior Forum!

firstly i would change your user name to something which will still be relevant in 2 years

because when your an experienced marketer in a few years time do you really want your username to be "warrior in training"

not the end of the world but its always good to use your real name so you can brand yourself

to start making money, create an affiliate site of some description, add plenty of content to it and drive traffic

keep things simple and just work on 1 project at a time and you will see results much faster

(if only i knew 4 years ago what i know now lol)

My advice, join the warroom....it's amazing, then choose one strategy and work it until you master it. After that, try another strategy and work it until you master it. If you do this a few times, you will be able to build websites/blogs whenever you want and create an income.

I'm sure you've already heard this but building your list is the fundamental to building an online business. The thing I liked about this when I started was that you could see results (maybe small but never the less) every day as it started to grow.

I honestly think you should consider this offer. It'll make you way ahead of all newbies. This is no BS. What someone gave to me a long time ago is what I'm passing to you.

Here is what you can do to get started.
You need to start out with a domain and hosting.
    Then maybe a website.

    Next, a squeeze page.

This is probably the asset of all internet marketers!

    Then follow these steps.

    1. Find your niche – think of customer profile
    2. Find your products ( more than 4)
    3. Get affiliate links

    4. Find emails
    5. Create getresponse campaign
    6. Load in emails ( followup )
    7. Create squeeze page
    8. Upload your squeeze page
    9. Drive traffic

They should help you get started.

    Good Luck!

These meanwhile is how I drive traffic when I started out.

    1. Article marketing :

By writing articles related to your keywords,

it adds your ranking and creates

many backlinks and clicks to your web,

    besides branding you.

Just submit articles to Ezine articles( use it a lot),

    and start building traffic.

Oh yeah, you can also get others to write

for you if you are not one for writing.

    Something like freelancers.com

should work for you well !

Post as many articles as you can

as fast as you can to get better results.

    2. Video marketing :

Make and post videos on youtube with your link!

Make it funny or interesting and soon

viewers will be flocking your site.

As long as the content you give them is good,

    youtubers generally will see it.

You can also make videos of you reading

out the articles you have written and posted,

it might be boring but at least it has good info!

    3. Blogging :

Frankly, I am still trying it out

and it is not really working for me,

but other bloggers say that it is working for them.

Just post a blog every day or two and

try to put in good content in it.

It seems you can also write it in a diary sorta style,

as long as it is interesting!

    Use wordpress.

    4. Solo Ads :

Paid traffic that does not guarantee subscribers.

It is a great way to start out when your list is low,

    but start out slow.

    Test the waters first.

See how many clicks or subscribers you are getting

with them and reevaluate the worth of the solo ads.

Generally, if you can get a certain amount

    of subscriptions or sales then,

    it is worth investing on.

Really the trial and error system for internet marketing.

    5. Classified Ads :

    UsFreeAds is the classified ads

strategy I am using right now.

There are actually more targeted people to your niche

by marketing it with classified ads.

Besides it ranks fine on Alexa,

    the traffic ranking is 1k++

    which is considered not bad.

You might wanna try it out too !

Hope it helps, good luck !

I'm just starting with solo ads
I have had one so far that had a poor result (zero sales)
i'm now using cbengine and cb-analytics.com to find a profitible product
any advice you have is welcome.

I am new myself, but I found a very cheap resource. I was browsing B&N the other day and came across "The Laptop Millionaire" by Mark Anastasi. It was $23, around ~225 pages.

While the story is kind of lame (typical broke to rich), the material is good. It covers the spectrum of ways to make money.

The book is dated 2012 so the material isn't too outdated. I found a lot of interesting ideas.

While he doesn't necessarily get deep into the technical how to do stuff, the abstract concepts are well delivered.

I think that book alone will at least let you see what options are available to you and then you can focus in on one area.

The book is definitely professionally edited which makes it a good read. The book is very well organized and that makes it very easy to go back and re-read sections that are interesting to you.

Welcome to the forum. One of the best ways to learn about internet marketing is to start off with free marketing. You could always get traffic with paid advertising, but if it isn't making you money, and your funds run out... your traffic and sales will run out too. Start off with article marketing... you can get some good immediately free traffic with this technique.

    1) Join the War Room - while this forum is great, the War Room has lots of free stuff and even better info - or at least, different info that is worthwhile
    2) Do not buy WSO's. Of if you do, buy only 1 or 2 and don't buy any more until you've gone through them and started to actually do the things as outlined in the WSO (I know what I am talking about on this!)
    3) After you've surveyed the lay of the land a bit, choose ONE thing and stick with it for long enough to see if you can make a success of it. If not, then try something else but not UNTIL then.

There are a lot of tips and information out there. As a beginner, focus on one to three traffic tools to get traffic to your website. If your want to try everything, you will be information overload, don't what to do and give up. Master one to three marketing tools first.

Firstly stop procrastinating and take action!

There are plenty of free tools around which you could immerse yourself in and learn. Setup an Amazon.com affiliate account and sell products through your page/profile at Squidoo or wordpress.com.

See what works and what doesn't. Once you have enough sales you could buy a domain name. Get some free webhosting and start a website. Now you have 2 or 3 options for making a small income. Once you start making some income invest in proper hosting plan and slowly expand!

Keep reading these forums, a wealth of information can be found here.... maybe information overload sometimes

    Good luck!
