Hello,

I am going to move my business to the next level and start Vlogging. Which is a problem for you because I am not particularly attractive.

BUT,

thank you in advance.

Depends how fancy you want to go. I find a Flip or just a digital camera + iMovie on the Mac or Windows Movie Maker does the job just fine for basic video blogging.

Depends on what you want, the only option I can think of is Alter Effects + Premiere Pro, which are a bit expensive.

You can use Camtasia Studio and create a video of what appears on your desktop. It can be a PowerPoint presentation or any other application. You can do a voice over, speaking as the slides are presented, for example.

You won't have to appear on the video unless you want to.

Don't know what country you are in so can't recommend a camera, you can get excellent 'webcams' for around £5 in the UK.
Ebay has 8GB HD Flip cameras for around £40.

As for editing software then try:
An older edition of Sony Vegas movie studio can be got from Amazon for around £30
WAX is free Wax - [ Homepage ]
VIRTUALDUB is free VirtualDub - Download

Don't forget you need a good quality microphone.

Well, you've got a sense of humor. That should help.

Post a link to your first vlog -- I'd like to see it.

  • Hi Dracoboar, to make your Vlogging realty, you need:

    1) Any HD Webcam for your operative system (unless you have a Mac, who has it integrated)
    2) A normal Wordpress installation with a good theme.
    3) Camtasia Studio or Jing (this for short videos)

This is all what you need to starting your Vlogging adventure!
    See you soon,

    "I am not particularly attractive"

If that is what you think:

    1) a huge dose of self confidence has made many unattractive people attractive (do you really think Donald Trump is attractive?)

    2) or you could fall back on your sense of humor and use masks/makeup/costumes to make yourself look interesting.

Hi - if its on the cheap then try using free software something like

    1. Windows Movie Maker for your video editing and making power slide videos and
    2. CamStudio for Screencapture videos and
    3. AudaCity for making your audio (although you can still use the other 2 software devices above.
    4. I'm sure you can also get FREE powerslide software

Like I said this is not the top of the range obviously BUT it is all FREE stuff and will get you going

I have made over approax 100 videos across 2 niches and would be more than happy to review your videos and offer positive advice for any improvements etc

    thanks and best of luck

    Jim
