Money Talks, Bullshit Walks: How to Get Rich by Felix Dennis
The best thing I liked about the book is the fact that it has been written -- so the book actually speaks to you -- as if he were sitting with you on a beach shack over a drink.
Sharp, witty, straight-from-the-heart and calls bullshit when it has to.Embedded with some poetry, it is fun to read. As the book's blurb, quoted from Mail on Sunday proclaims " if this book doesn't get you rich, nothing ever will". Almost all the important stops are covered for those who have the determination and drive.
It got me thinking about certain things that already have me sprinting for action.Taking action has a sex appeal to it. Sitting on the couch and farting away my formative years hasn't. I might be lazy but I will post-pone my stretching and doing nothing for better days to come. For now, I will slog by butts off.
Felix says so. He also says --
1. Get off your butt and work to get rich.
2. The space between your ears needs a makeover.
3. Learn to stay the course. But don't foolishly persist when you should be walking off.
4. Keep your mind open for opportunities and be willing learn.
5. Harness the fear of failure.
6. Ownership is EVERY-THING.
7. Working a day-job never gets you rich.
8. Know your strengths and work from there.
9. Find talent and learn to delegate.
10. If you think you knew all of this, that is precisely why you aren't there yet.
