Yahoo Groups-Dead, dying, or making me rich?

Hi guys, Is there any value in yahoo groups these days? I just started researching them and it seems as though there are a million ads going out to groups that started 8 or 9 years ago.

Is anybody making money off of these bad boys?

Thanks, Melford

I haven't had any luck. I have a list that's at least 8 or 9 years old and has around 3000 members. No luck selling anything and not even good at driving traffic to a website or blog.

Your mileage may vary... But, I think one of the problems (from a marketer's perspective) of Yahoo Groups is that it's easy to sign up for a list and choose web delivery, and forget about it and never actually read it. If it doesn't go into your eMail, it's easy to forget you're "subscribed" to a list.

So, of those 3000 subscribers, how many are actually reading? Who knows?
