What do YOU think of my MONEY making method?

Hi Warriors

I created a facebook account 6 months ago named after my local city.

So my facebook name is my local town name, anyways...I now have 350 friends, all REAL people who live in my local area. I'm getting 1-5+ new friends requests per week of people in the local area.

I haven't monetized this facebook account yet but I NOW have an idea!!!...

I basically want to create an event and invite all friends on my fb account.

i would show them "how to make money with Google" then show setup a 1 hour face to face meetup, and basically show everyone the basics of niche site, google adsense,etc. and i will include my hosting affiliate link within the 1 hour presentation and have them signup to get started on there first site.

I can make $100+ per hosting signup so I get 10 people to sign up at the event that's $1,000 !!! My goal would be 20-30 signups per event.

    I think that it is a very uncertain strategy as I rarely check my own Facebook event invitations, I wouldn't even trust some random persons invitation and on top of all that you expect people to show up to a face to face and pay for hosting when they may or may not have a tiny bit of knowledge in the said field..

    Honesty you should not expect to see these numbers, first of all these people probably are not interested in making money online, and even if a few of them would be interested they would not trust someone on facebook with the name of their town. People trust people and they need to see a face and know that they are talking to a real person...

      I agree with this. Just because someone lives in your city, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will be good candidates for "Google money" event... especially for $100.

      I learnt this the hard way... a wasted $3,000 hard.

    First off, you're not allowed to have such a Facebook account. Read their terms:

    You will not provide any false personal information on Facebook, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.

    You will not create more than one personal profile.

    If we disable your account, you will not create another one without our permission.

    You will not use your personal profile for your own commercial gain (such as selling your status update to an advertiser).
    That said, the idea is nothing new. But I don't think merely teaching them will be enough. Offer to create their niche website completely free, provided they purchase their hosting and domain using your affiliate link.

    The best micro niche sites hardly take 15 - 20 minutes to set up; I know this because it's how I currently make a living. Hire someone to write a 500 word article for you - this will cost you 5 bucks maybe.

    So you create a 1 page micro niche site and spend $5 and 20 minutes of your time. You get $100 in return. That's a pretty good deal.

    You then tell them to keep adding new content and tell them how to oursource their article writing needs.

    As to getting your clients, you can go ahead with your FB strategy. It sounds doable, except you're violating FB's terms. But who doesn't now?

    First, introduce yourself to your FB friends. Tell them how are you making money and how they can also do the same. Try to trigger interest in them. If they show interest then you will have a good time ahead

      eternal is correct,
      your friends might not be interested with this.
      Besides, it is sort of a rule for me
      that I never sell to family and friends,
      it causes a lot of trouble not worth the money.

      You can try it out,
      but if you push too hard,
      you might irk them,
      so go slow.

      Create a facebook fan page first,
      those that are interested would join.
      Then, you reel them in.

      Put up advertisements around facebook,
      get more of those internet marketers to you,
      the sell to them.

      Do a webinar,
      it is way more advisable than a face to face.

      With face to face,
      there will be this awkward feeling,
      and all the crap about guarantees.
      You might wanna think about it!

    I tried creating a facebook account using the name of my highschool and got friend requests by the hundreds each day until it was full 5 mos ago and still now have 1,500 friend requests lined up... I used it to sell different kinds of t-shirt designs named after the school, post reunion announcements, help announcements, blood donation requests, and even career advice notices... It was so much fun...

    I think you would be much better off contacting local restaurants and shops and offering to post about them for a small advertising fee.
