Reading multiple email accounts on the web

I have quite a few niche sites all with their own email accounts. I also have several major email accounts, which I read in Outlook 2003. These are ones where I respond and correspond with people. I could add all the others here but it would get a bit out of hand even allowing for setting up loads of rules.

I could probably use Outlook Express and that would be fine except for the fact that I travel a lot and don't always take my laptop as most of my trips of the island (Isle of Man) have to be by air and this damn 1 bag rule for cabin luggage means I can't take an overnight case and my laptop in the cabin. So rather than hang around waiting for luggage (it takes longer to get luggage at Gatwick than it takes to fly there) I leave the laptop behind for short trips.

The main email accounts are fine as I can access them on the web via MS Exchange but the little ones aren't set up on Exchange so it isn't possible to use OE.

I can, and do, access them via the hosting account web system but that means logging on to each account one at a time. Boring and not exactly user friendly.

So, I understand that there are some web-based bits of software that can read and sort mail from different accounts. Has anyone tried these and if so what can they recommend?

Thanks.

The problem is that there are just so many addresses and when you forward something then you can't use the sender address as a way of filtering them into manageable folders. At the moment I have 75 different folders which if I combined them would take me for ever to proritise if they came into one address.

I've just read the post about keeping posts on the subject of making money from the internet. I think this post can be considered acceptable as my problem is related to being able to deal with orders and enquiries while travelling. If I can't access emails I can't make money. Hope you agree

You could set up a number of gmail accounts and forward your accounts to them. Then set-up a filter on each incoming mail. If you filter everything but the stuff you may need to read then it works well.

I'm pretty sure Google Mail can handle something like this, and I know Yahoo! Mail Plus can.

You can download POP email and filter it into folders, and you can also set it up so the outgoing mail is "From" whichever address you wish for it to be.

I think Yahoo! Plus has a limit of 10 Pop addresses, and it costs $20 per year, I think. I've never tried this in Google, but I would bet it's similar, and I think there's no extra charge with them.

    I hope this helps.

Gmail works exactly the same (plus you can use imap as well). Only difference is the gmail charges per amount of storage you use. So it's free up to 7gb then a sliding scale after that per extra storage. However I've got 4,000 emails stored in one gmail account and not near the 7gb limit. Remember you can set-up multiple gmail accounts as well if needed.
