| I have a couple questions about news feeds for Wordpress sites please... 1) I was wondering how I can set up news feeds on self-hosted Wordpress sites? I'm talking about a plugin or whatever where I add the target keywords for the news I want and it will show the latest news within my sidebar with a link to my 'News' page where it will show ALL of the news. Of course it will need to auto-update both within the sidebar and on my 'News' page. Does something like that exist for WP 2.7? 2) Has anyone determined that having a newsfeed in your sidebar that constantly auto updates with the latest news with a 'Read All The News...' link there to a 'News' page on your site is good for getting search engines to pay more attention to your site? Thank you Steve |

This really is simple to do. Goto the design menu of your Wordpress blog and select widgets. There you'll find a RSS widget. Add this to your blog. Click edit and copy and paste the RSS feed you want. Click save and it will appear. One source to get a news feed is Google news. Drill down to find our niche and then add the RSS feed for it. (Right click and copy on the orange icon) Having an RSS feed will attract the searcxh engines but you need more content to keep them happy. |

I have some questions about putting an RSS newsfeed on my sites please... If you go to this site (its not mine) IDENTITY THEFT and scroll about halfway down you will see a news feed in the LEFT sidebar (News from the Web). Click on the 'view all' link at the end and you go to their news page. How can I make a news page like they did? Actually, they have 14 pages of news with a link from each bit of news to another page on their site that has just one news article...and then there is an off site link (opens in a new window) that goes to the source of that article. I'm assuming these 14 news pages are all automatically updated with content. Does anyone know how I can do that or can at least point me to where I can find that information please? Thanks again.
