I have totally been in your place and exactly understand how you feel. I, however, wll tell you 1 thing here - there 2 types of mentors in the Warrior Forum - genuinely good ones as well as the "wannabe" mentors.

Beware not to fall for sales pitches and testimonials only. Do a thorough background check of who ever comes to your mind and only then progress.

You're not going to get any useful feedback without giving more details.
Your post tells us nothing about your expectations, skills etc...
Also keep i mind to get a worthwhile mentor/coach you are going to have to
    pay them.

PS. Offering to share profits is not going to work either. Money talks .....

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

I'm sorry but with replies like this you're going to put off any serious mentor. They can't take you seriously. Why not?

First, you're not giving them the respect they deserve. How can this respect be given? By parting with your money of course. Putting your money where your mouth is.

If you perceive there to be a greater benefit for yourself than holding onto your cash - you won't mind finding the money to acquire the skills, knowledge and training which will move you away from frustration and pain to pleasure upon finding your personal ideal solution.

This unfortunately (for you) is a two-way street.

You can't hope to be handed everything on a plate completely free of charge, without some form of monetary compensation going to the person who'll be spending their time mentoring you on a one-on-one level.

They're going to be asking themselves (your potential mentor), what's in this for me with this kind of an arrangement? Not a lot by the looks of it.

And the only way they got to be a mentor in the first place was by using their time and determination to become an expert in their field. Undoubtedly investing a lot of their own money too to get them to where they wanted to be right now. And by the looks of it... you're going to have to do the same.

As in... getting off your ass and fighting like mad for what you want to achieve in life.

Do you realize just how intensive playing the part of a mentor is to a complete newbie in this industry?

        I personally don't think you've got a clue.

I think you're looking at this completely from your own standpoint and what could be in it for yourself only.

No thought or consideration for the guy helping you.

Why should they help you, when for the time spent doing so, they're sacrificing making perhaps a lot of money for themselves?

And secondly, from your reply above, you're just looking for a few 'tricks'. (Your wording not mine).

It's got nothing to do with 'tricks'. Either you start treating this like a real business or you go without. It's as simple as that.

You've got one hell of a lot of information right here in front of you on this forum. What are you going to do with this knowledge? Fritter it away or properly apply into a money making strategy of your own?

        The choice is yours.

I do give respect to the mentors, as i want to learn from someone means i respect their knowledge . So this means that i do have respect for the mentors.

And i do think this as a real business and i think the word "trick" i used was misleading my opinion. And that was my fault to use the word " trick "

          I hope i cleared it .

And i know theres are a lot of information in the board and i swear i am reading everything to learn. I just needed some help. And i do understand the person who might teach me may lose his opportunity costs or may be not.

A better answer would be to justify why helping you for free is better than continuing on their usual schedule. I help people all the time, it's something I have a passion for, but direct 1 on 1 time really puts a damper on personal productivity. So what would be the reasons a mentor should be obliged to help you for free? Give some genuine detailed reasons and you may draw interest.

Mark - Whilst I agree with your reply in it's entirety of which you took a good while to 'say it how it is'. It was such a good reply but I was hoping that the end result of it might lead to providing some help to someone just starting out with little to spend??

We are suppose to help each other here after all..

ichthyander - My advice would be decide on just what exactly it is you wish to do online and join the lists of the best marketers within your chosen niche.

Then read as much as you can for as long as you can. The reading style and techniques will help you decide upon a mentor, but that's for another day..

Sure there is great value on this forum but also a lot of crap. And when you're starting out, knowing what's crap is not easy to spot.

Don't jump from thread to thread, read and digest only trusted proven marketers material.

At some point you are going to have to spend some money but keep it in your pocket until your sure of what direction you wish to pursue.

          I wish you well

You can learn tons by reading the posts on this site. To get a really good mentor it is going to cost you money. Nothing is free - nothing good anyway. You should be very careful who you choose to be your mentor.

Go out and immerse yourself in online business, start by loading yourself up with knowledge and even take a stab at getting started, ask questions where you get stuck (you will get tons of great answers here).

This will show people that you 1) Have the fire in your belly, 2) That you can learn on your own 3) That you know the right questions to ask 4) That you know where you want to go and 5) That you have a work ethic...so that when someone helps you they know you will go away and execute.

If you can take these 5 steps you will not only find lots of people will to help you...you will have found the path to succeeding.

Are you serious enough to do this?

Mark makes a lot of sense with his reply. Anyone who agrees to be a mentor is taking on a responsibility and it wouldn't be a quick decision. I think you have to first make yourself attractive to mentors, in the first place. Just my opinion.
