How should I structure my blog and service?

I'm having a bit of a dilemma - so I wanted to ask my fellow Warriors for your input and advice.

I originally created my site with a blog "resources" section tied into it. About halfway through the year I decided it probably wasn't getting the exposure it needed, so I hauled everything over to the front page. Now I feel like the blog is overshadowing the services that I offer, so it probably needs to be made a little less prominent.

Have you seen a blog by a service business that seems to flow well and give you a straight, direct message about what it is they offer while still directing you to the blog?

(Mine is here if you want to see what I mean).

(Edit: Wasn't sure if this should go in the main forum or in Web Design - I'm not asking for a critique of my site design, I'm asking about service-oriented sites that happen to have "sticky" blogs and how I could do something like that)

Thank you for any advice you could give!

I've seen a lot of services which operate their services by separating their blog and not on the main page. I suggest refocusing your services on the front page and that would be the best way to go.

Since you've already gotten the response that you need, you can inform your current customers of a possible change on your front page and what you can possibly do to the front page of your products is by adding a feed column at your front page so as to still be able to "inform" your customers that your blog is still "updated" and alive.

So that would make your services more outstanding and combine your "blog" feed at the front of your page, giving that "blog updates" but services included.

    Makes sense?

    I'll summarize:

    1. Front page redesigned-More Focused On Services
    2. Add Tiny RSS feed column, could be on the vertical left corner of service page.
    3. More attention on Services but people know that your blog is updated.

Other alternatives could be by adding a blog ticker on your front page that ticks on your front page. That way people are aware of your blog and can click on the latest ticks.

the rss leaks link juice and might have visitors leave your site and hop onto another persons site. i would do internal linking instead.

Thank you! I definitely want to add in a blog ticker. I have YARPP (Yet another related posts plugin) but I think it only works on the sidebar. Any blog plugins that will put information from the blog onto the main page?
