$7500+/1st. Month For Search Enging Optimization

Search engine optimization is about maximizing your sites potential in the organic search results of the engines. Which holds true; however, what is the price tag for having an SEO firm accomplish that for you? I guess it would depend on the type of website as well as the type of business.

One of the SEO companies called me today offering to optimize my site and conduct a PPC campaign for me. I though to myself, this might not be a bad idea. It might just be what I need in the mean time. OK, what is the price tag for such a service? Personally, I was thinking in lines of maybe $500.00 to maybe $2000.00 over the course of a year time, not including the PPC cost. But I guess I was way off. For an affiliate site like mine, the price was over $7500.00 for the first month including a $3700.00 set up and admin fees.

I am not going to mention the name of the company or make any additional bash the company until I hear from the experts in this field about this kind of service. For all I know, this might just be a standard price tag that I find unjustifiable for the type of site I'm running.

    I'll drop a name. I had a church who wanted a website built. It was a large website, but was easily done in WP. AT&T was going to charge them $800 a month and guarantee 15 clicks a day.

    To me, that was outrageous. I built the site for free. Taught them how to do article marketing, and now they are happy and SAVED $800 a month.

    If you are in affiliate marketing and cant learn SEO, this might not be the biz for you.

    DONT PAY IT! Yes, it is outrageous.

      You've done a very good thing.

      But I have to disagree with your statement that if you can't learn seo then this may might not be the biz for you.

      That statement if believed would discourage an innocent from conducting online business because a lot of newbies believe seo is a super daunting challenge.

      Even though free ongoing search engine traffic is the holy grail when it comes to traffic generation, there are so many other methods to get visitors to our offers.

    That is about 2x what I've been quoted when I was running my computer parts business. If they were willing to guarantee results, I told them it would be a go, but NOT ONE company I reached out to was willing to back up their work with a guarantee of any kind.

      Thanks for the quote reference, Tom.

      I thought it was extremely high as well. To make it even more interesting, that quote was for optimization and PPC to target North America only. To reach global customers, they were talking about double the amount.

      The guarantees, they said you will see a good return of investment starting from the sixth month "after they have collected over $30,000" in campaign and PPC fees.
      "Good Return of investment", was the only guarentee phrase I could get.

      Thanks for the guidance in this matter. I am, however, learning more about the subject as days pass. I think it is useful to have a first hand knowledge of SEO so that you, at the least, can do some ongoing SEO maintenance to your new and different pages.

    I think that if an SEO company is cold calling and suggetsting these prices that that in itself is suspect. However, I think it would be fair to ask for an exact itemized list of services to be provided and then to do a little price comparison shopping.

    There Are So Many Myths Abount SEO out There That People And Even some companys are about to charge out rageous fees to Website owners or small businesses because the make them feel is so hard and close to impossible...is kind of like doing your Taxes...Some People believe there hard to do but once your trainied you can do your own..plus start a side business doing others ..you find many Seo's once trainied they start a side business making money off other un-trainied webmasters..Its the american Way...lol
