I'm About to offer an affiliate program for poker: i'd like your opinion pls

Hi Warriors, i'm soliciting opinions from any persons, especially fellow Canucks, as regards offering our affiliate program in Warrior forum. I'm just working on a special offer for the members of this forum and I have some questions on which I hope to get some feedback here.

1. We are not taking US customers, our emphasis is Canada, Latin America, and E. Europe. Are there many people here working those target markets?

2. The usual poker affiliate networks that were previously available up to last year, are no longer taking new (game merchant) members these days due to the ugly situation last year. (black Friday, FTP's demise etc etc). I'm thinking the Warrior Forum might be a good alternative place to look for affiliates. Agree? Disagree?

3. In case you are not familiar with the poker market, there are about 1.5 million players in Canada, about 2 to 3 million in Russia, 2 million in UK and so on...women make up about 20% to 30% of the audience. Commissions can be very lucrative.

4. If you think this type of affiliate program would fly here among this crowd, is there anything in particular you would like to see offered?

Notes:
- Our game is proprietary, meaning we designed, built, and own it.
- Normally a commission structure is based on revenue-share, and we will make the offer very attractive.
- its well-known that successful affiliates can bring the bacon home in large amounts.
- There is a big off-line marketing opportunity here in addition to online IM

I don't have PM privileges yet, but if you have private remarks i'd be glad to answer via skype (in which case, PM me your skype addy).

Lastly, i love this forum. What a great mixture of thriving IM energy.
Good luck to all!
James

Sounds interesting because there is a truckload of money to be made with online gambling but after the feds shut it down I thought it was a wrap. I had a workmate who was making a nice living with online poker and lost it all when the feds shut it down.

If you have a way to sell online poker to foreign customers without breaking any US laws then it sounds great. I'm no attorney though. This sounds more like a legal issue rather than an affiliate issue. You can always find some good affiliates willing to sell a hot product to a hungry market. How you can skate around the laws on this one if at all possible should prove to be very interesting.

Hello Kevin, thanks for your reply. Those feds you speak of are US Feds, and they only are able to prosecute (shut down) gaming operations that have taken US players. There is a Lobby originating out of someplace in the desert called Las Vegas, which keeps Washington funded to that force and effect. Just like the pharma companies and the FDA etc.

Our game runs in a legal jurisdiction, and does not accept US players, therefore we have nothing to do with them (Feds), nor they with us.

On the income potential, i'd rather not say here publicly, but you are correct. It can be very lucrative. Its a niche, within a niche (online gaming/poker)and like any niche requires some expertise.

If you PM me your skype, I can answer more. Meanwhile, we are working on the details of an affiliate program offer to this forum. Its based on revenue share and probably will release it next week.

    Hi James,

I have done Internet SEO and Marketing for Online Casinos in Gibraltar and Malta and also Australia and I can tell you it is a hard but big business. The statagies we used I have never used before or after... but they worked. It took us a while to find the right target goup, thier interests and where they frequent online but with alot of time and money anything is possible.

I spent alot of time in Gibraltar and some in Malta (never went to Australia we did it throught a partner) working with gaming commisions and programmers. It is stress and a real uuhill battle at first, but once you get to know the right people and learn the rules, laws and regulations it is very profitable.

As for finding Affiliates here I do not know how well that will go. White Label partners are a good bet they are always looking for a better cut and have active users. It also depends on the payment systems you use, PayPal is not to keen on Online Casinos anymore. You should check out the big 5 Affiliate systems and mostly those doing business Internationally.

    Good kuck... Hope this helps.
