So I'm new to the marketing game, I mean I know the seo rules and stuff but not too familiar with the HOW MUCH.

So I'm a web developer getting into this amazon afilliate stuff and sites done I'm getting a few hits had 2 sales in my first week which I believe is a massive achievement when it comes to online marketing! Granted I've only earned £8.45 but jesus it really gives you that confidence to know that something more may eventually come of it! I have a conversion rate so far of about 15% I expect that to probably drop when I get a lot more traffic though..

TRAFFIC

Backlinks.. How many do I need? on Fiverr I can buy like 7000 for $5 whatttttt

SEO Company - £5000 a year for the same job?!

How many backlinks does an online store need? What is the conversion rate of 100 PR1 Backlinks to say PR7 Backlinks? In other words how many PR1 backlinks do I need to be getting 1 PR7 backlink?

If I have backlinks to my homepage but not my product pages then will only my home page get found? Will my products get better exposure from my homepage having keywords?

Articles

Do I need a version of the article on my site too?

Should I be solely putting articles on my site? or should they be in directories?

Web 2.0 Sites

What are they? Why do I need them!

Article Submission..

If I have a press release, I have got all my spin sytax in there my article is a little over 600 words introducing my site.. How many article directories should I really be submitting to? 10? 100? 1000? Does it all depend on what keyword you are? Is there a nice little graph that says 'High Competition Keyword - Needs 1000 Article Submissions and 300 PR7 Backlinks'?

Google Panda

What is it? Is it how many times things have been shared on my site or is it how many followers I have on twitter?!

Internet Marketing when you type it into google comes back with SO SO SO much but google is always changing I need a concrete blue print to what works at the moment.. for example I read the other day that google is now penalising sites with article submissions!
I also read that pinging your posts is bad and google will be suspicious!
I'm not saying these are true but its just some of the things on the web that you can come across! Crazy!

Rant over but I'd appreciate some answers

Have a nice day!

Be very careful with your backlinks. Google wants them to be real. Buying them from Fiverr could doom you before you get started.

If you are going to buy them, they probably need to be "drip-fed."

    1. Linkbuilding: Only link to quality websites and do not link to spam sites Google is cracking down on linkbuilding that looks unnatural @ spammy sites. I would suggest doing it yourself even if it is only a few links a day ( At least you know it will be done right )

    2. Articles - I would recommend you always publish the article to your website first then you can rewrite it and submit it too article directories etc..

    3. Web 2.0 - Squidoo, and hubpages. I like hubpages they rank well in the serps or search engines, and it is free pretty much answers why you need them ( Put a link to your website, or blog on hubpages because last I heard they do not accept affiliate links anymore )

    4. Google Panda - Update by Google to get more relevant results in the search engines only build good quality backlinks, offer high value on your blog, or website, and only have 100% unique content written by you, and you will be just fine.

Definitely watch out when it comes to buying thousands and thousands of links and immediately linking to that many sites that fast. You need natural links and not fake robotic spammy links linking directly to your blog, review site or money site. IMO it's better to just link to some directories, relevant blogs to your niche, social bookmarking sites and social networking sites.

These sites could be normal natural sites that would be relevant to your niche. You don't need thousands and thousands of links immediately. Google is not stupid. A few links daily maybe ten or twenty or so would be a normal natural growth rate depending on your niche or the type of site you have.

      Hope that helps.

Google has been targeting links built in mass that don't offer much value, I'd recommend you stay away from those types of linkbuilding.

No answer - off-page SEO isn't about "numbers of backlinks".

    It's about quality and relevance.

Might actually be better value. (Assuming it isn't really "the same job"!).

The question is: do you want your online business to be dependent on Google for its primary traffic? It's a "yes or no" question. For yourself.

Nobody knows. SEO textbook writers have differing views. Some authors suggest that 10 PR-1 links equate to 1 PR-2 backlink, and then 10 of those to 1 PR-3 backlink, and so on. If they're right, the disparity between PR-7 and PR-1 backlinks is 10,000,000:1. Even if they're exaggerating, it's a huge number. To me, it doesn't matter, because the linkjuice value of my backlinks is determined by their relevance, not by their PR.

    Yes.

Always publish them on your own site first and have them indexed there before they go anywhere else.

If you want others to re-publish them on relevant sites, from which you can get some targeted traffic, you should put them in one or two article directories after they've been indexed on your site. Ezine Articles is a very good one.

None. Press releases don't belong in article directories.

And they should never be spun.

    No.

Don't try to use article directories for their backlinks. That isn't what they're there for, and it won't help.
