No Such Thing As Free Traffic

I have been a member of this forum for years and everyday I see people coming and asking the same questions.

How can I make money for free?
How can I get traffic for free?
How can I get free content ?
The list is endless.

Here is the truth and I know some people are not going to like it.
There is no such thing as something for free there is always a cost
upfront or on the back-end.

One... if you are sitting on your laptop doing SEO, Article Marketing etc
You are pay with your time. What is an of hour of your time worth?
lets say $15 and how many hours a day do you spend? lets say 5hrs
and it take 30days to start getting good traffic (normally takes longer)
= $15x5x30=$2250

It could have been cheaper to just use paid media and you could have made much more money and reinvested it.

The point is you need to look at your online venture as a business and stop looking at it as a hobby.
If you just understand what I just wrote you will be much better of.

Yes - that's very true: TIME --- MONEY --- QUALITY - are all inter-related as every project manager will know. Change one and you affect the others.

There are a lot of people who are doing well online with only article marketing but I know that they had to invest their time to write them. Yes, this is a no cost strategy and free but it took their time

Time = Money - that is so very true. Many people might think they are getting everything for free but consider the time it is taking you to get there. That is also money. Nothing is completely free.

I think there is free traffic.

Sadly the people who use cheap article services will probably never see it.

If you're banging out great new content and keep doing it time after time, people will take notice and start linking to you.

That's free traffic and worth a lot more than being number 1 in Google.

when i first started out, I spent lots of time to earn the money, now I have the money I spend the money to buy traffic and save the time. Then just test and tweak.

It takes many years for people to "get this" just like it did for me, but make sure this is your main aim. IF you get this right you can earn more money than you have ever desired in your life.

You're right- but a lot of people don't know how to turn time into $$$ besides their day job.

In that case, they turn to SEO, article marketing, etc.

But you're right- if you can freelance and make like $15/hour, you're giving up a lot of money that can be spent on guaranteed traffic.

It is tough to start a business on a shoestring. That is what many of the Warrior marketers try to do. You don't have to put much effort to read between the lines in many of these letters and hear, "I am broke and desperate."

That being said, there are a ton of things that can be done with a limited budget. But, an investment of time and/or money must be made.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

While i think what the OP is saying is true, I also think that when it comes to starting an IM business or a brick and mortar business, if you are the boss and think that automatically your time is worth X amount so you should be getting 'paid' in one form or another in X amount the very second you lay pen to paper to plan or even as you start to run your business, such as when you are building up 'steam' by harvesting traffic, then you are likely setting yourself up to fail. There is a cost to be the boss and that never changes and sometimes the 'boss's time isn't worth anything becaues the boss is getting 'paid' by the success of his venture that is made possible by not taking a bite out of the company or its profits until it gets going.

I agree, free is pretty much non-existent... but, it's a great way for those who are just starting out to get into it with little cost and build a steady business.

The difference between paid media and SEO/article writing, etc. is if you stop paying for media, you stop seeing traffic. So, while it may have been easier to pay for media to you, it may be more feasible to others to spend their time for evergreen results.

hey I'm totally agree with your statement. I love writing therefore I willing to spend my time on writing articles and I don't think is waste of time. How much effort you spent on the things you do it reflects how much you get. All the best to everyone of us
