Membership sites owners - how did you take your site to the next level?

I have opened a membership site about real estate coaching about 10 months ago and it has been growing slowly.
I have several members that have been members for 6 months or longer, so it is a good sign that they get value and they stay. I have 2 price points - $97 a month for full coaching and $39 a month for access to information only.
My question is for owners of membership sites: what was the one or two things that made your site finally take off and get a lot of members?

    Include a backend higher priced item.

    Offering a higher priced item, of the $497 - $2000 , even $4000 range.

    People do buy these, and they add up quick too.


    If you don't have one, why not create one then ? get brainstorming !

    How to get alot of members?
    Turn your current members into affiliates, turn happy customers in to go-getter affiliates who will bring you MORE traffic, and more members and hence more profits !

    If you apply these tips, and increase your margins, then dont forget to remember me for my tips, when you are to your Higher profit margin level...chilling in some beach enjoying your success .

    Nothing has built up my membership websites faster than paid traffic. Recruiting affiliates has been another great way of getting in more members.

    Can I ask what you're currently doing to drive traffic to your membership sales page? You need your offered to be seen all day everyday. Whether it's from free traffic, paid traffic, affiliate traffic, JV traffic, etc... it doesn't matter.

    Do you rank organically for any desired keyword phrases?
