I have been using this website since 1.5 months ago and it's not anywhere near first page of Google for keywords Camera lenses USA. I'm very disappointed because I thought this website would at least rank for that with exact keywrod domain

I'm wondering who you think would search for that term? No one in the States would phrase it that way.

    Hello OP,

    Well,

To be honest your site is very thin and doesn't seem to offer much in the way of quality content. It doesn't scream " your resource for camera lenses " when I open it. If I were looking for lenses, I would identify it as a relatively cheap site and move on to something more trustworthy looking with quality content.

So A) I would work on generating authentic quality content and B) I don't see much in the way (actually any) of backlinks pointing to your site, so it's kinda just floating out there in mid range G-land.

My suggestion would be to do solid KWR and come up with lot's of low/no comp KWs and then create posts and pages that are optimized for those KWs and post them regularly to your site. Add a bit of overall offsite SEO to your site via some diversified linkbuilding or even something simple like social bookmarking your longtail KW posts and you'll get traffic.

Not at all trying to be mean, but it looks like you either now very little about proper site building and on and offsite SEO or you simply haven't done it yet. Address these and then reassess.

    Cheerz

What search volume does that search term acheive per month.

That might be something to consider before ranking this.

    Local monthly searches: 73

The keyword only appears one time on your webpage

Also there is little good content

Too many in-your-face "buy" links and not enough info about each product...

Here's what I found when I looked at it:

Your keyword has 28 exact global searches per month and NO CPC at all. That means no one is looking for it in the searches and there are no advertisers bidding on it.

allintitle and allinurl return 1500 and 55K respectively for your keyword.

Your site looks like it has 0 on-page SEO going on at all. There are no articles for Google to find and read and your keyword doesn't even appear on the page except for being part of a graphic. Google can't tell what the graphic says, so it doesn't see the keyword at all.

What you do have on the page is simple cut and paste from the manufacturer's site. Why would Google send someone to your site vs. Nikon or Canon, which are the known authorities for their own products?

And, in my opinion, your buy buttons are comically huge. That's just me though. I'd never click on them because they remind me of scammer site buttons I've seen in the past.

    Suggestions:
    • Keep the domain. EMD importance is beginning to be reduced by Google.
    • Scrap your content or put it in a background RSS feed.
    • Put articles up that are around 1000 words each and are SEO'd to boot.
    • Start a natural backlinking strategy.
    • Don't plan on making money on this site for 6 months or so unless you do something radical.

I hate giving negative feedback, but it looks thrown together. As a consumer, I really get a lot of my reassurance to spend money on a website by the visuals and content. It would "feel" better if the buy buttons were lined up and the items were separated a different way. It just doesn't "feel" safe and solid. I spend a lot online, but I am careful about where.

I agree that no one in the US would search those terms.

1 thing that couldn't hurt is to add some videos to your site. Maybe embed a youtube video that reviews some of the lenses you are trying to sell.

You can try make your site more organized. I don't see your website navigation here, and it will make people confuse. Also it's better using text links than big buy now button. Text link converts better.

Hey Teri, looks like we've been pretty tough on your site. I just wanted to add not to get discouraged, take the advice here (there's some good advice) and make your site better. And the next better still.

Best of luck, you're in the right place to learn how to make this work.

Thank you all for the input. It seems the key is to get good backlinks but how can i actually, as a new website develop good quality backlinks that aren't spamish? I was thinking YouTube, Squidoo and HubPages. Thoughts?

Sorry but, scrap everything except the domain.

Find a good keyword or two. Then set it up for SEO. When you rank, then worry about the affiliate links and placement. You could have awesome linkage for your users to click but if you get 5 hits a month you make $0. Get some good articles up with the proper keywords and make the site look more trustworthy.
