...How domain age works?

For example, i own several domains that are forwarded to some of my projets, ...do the years-age of these domains count? or it counts from the day they are google indexed?

It might be the day they were registered based on whois information.

I'm not exactly sure though ... especially if it's transferred.

  There are 2 things.
  
  Actual Domain Age - When the domain was created
  
  Then there is Cache Age
  
  Also what is neat if the aged domain has back links, you can use those, thus doing either page creation or redirects. I did this on an old domain I used to have. Worked out pretty good at the time.

That's what i ask also...does it work based on whois, or based on indexed date?

  When the domain name is first ever created. Here is an example. I created a domain (first ever) called pccogs.com . Even though this domain is now available the age of it keeps on cooking. It is going on 4 years now, though I only owned it about 2 years.

I am afraid the tool you suggested doesn't work properly.

1. It doesn't make sense for a domain to keep "aging" even if it is free to register!
2. For some domains it doesn't show the age (it say's - can't determine)

That's why i am thinking...wich does really matter for Google...domain creation or index?

  Everything! It is not cut and dry, if it was, then exploiting search results would be a common practice.
  
  Proper On Page SEO - Keywords in Heading, Discriptions, Meta keywords for some search engines, Density, Index Count, Page Rank (google) Trust Level - Alexa (Gov/edu back links as an example
  Cache age, Domain Age, and also for Google which is in their patent - Domain Registration Length
  
  I should of been more specific - Domain age is when the domain is indexed by archive.org, my bad

In my opinion, it's counted based on the day it's registered on registrar.
You can check the domain at cekpr [dot] com.
