Authority Website...Is There a Blueprint?

13 replies
I've got a pretty strong idea for an authority based on an ebook that is now selling on Kindle...it is definitely an evergreen market...

I've had one very well-respected Warrior here on the forum validate it...where products could be built out in the form of a video course, live calls/forum, etc...he was too busy launching his own products...

Here's my question: have any of you experienced Warriors purchased a WSO that pretty much details the process of taking on such a project? I'm more than willing to put in the time, I just need a bit more of the compass.

Appreciate any and all enlightenment...

    To be honest, I don't know if I've seen an authority site blueprint before.

    Personally, if I was to start building a large authority site, it would have

    -Long, well researched, quality articles. Quality over quantity.
    -A way for visitors to subscribe via RSS or email
    -An easy way for visitors/possible JV partners to contact me
    -Written content as well as video
    -A domain name/blog name that's easy to remember and unique
    -Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube pages/channels

    Good luck with it!

      This is awesome advice, simplified. I love it. I have to use this checklist every time I launch a new campaign.

    Authority website blueprint:

    - Write a lot of content. Very quality content.
    - Pay an autoresponder so you can build a list;
    - Create a forum for your website;
    - Post some videos to your website;
    - Create social media (twitter, facebook, youtube) accounts to promote your website;
    - Post more content to your website;
    - Post content to your forum;
    - Post more and more content to your website and your forum;
    - Create tons and tons of backlinks to your website and your forum;
    - Pray every night to get some luck and to have people visiting your website instead of all the other already established ones in the niche you are;

    Good luck man

    Well, we're not supposed to promote our own products, although it may be a gray area when someone asks. Rather than purposely skirting the rules, gray area or not, I'll just suggest you check some of the sig files in this thread.

    Look's like Dennis is your man!

    I might even pick it up however I have never had a problem with authority sites - you just need to focus on quality content and more importantly you need to network with people in your niche.

    You can do this in the form of guest posts, advertising etc... and then if you have a site with REAL quality info you will be on the right track.

    You need to keep visitors returning for more.

      Dennis's book is definitely get's my vote. It's probably the best course I've seen on authority site's as far as actually building one. And he wrote it from experience since he's actually done it, instead of the "theory" we see so much of now days.

    My view towards an authority site is that it needs to be seen by Google AND by visitors as a site that is going to deliver the right content people need and/or are searching for.

    People might need information, either in written or viewable format, or they might need news, ideally recent and related, or indeed they might be looking for products.

    So offer choices of relevant and helpful articles, yes unique is better than PLR but you can use PLR also in my opinion, as part of the whole site.

    I would also offer videos, and products, as well as my favorite: news updates from around the web. This is the content curation part, whereby you gather relevant content from other good sources, and compile them in your posts on your site. Ideally you do this with a personal comment.

    I have all this automated now :-) yep, the lazy part in my is still winning...

    Anyway, you get an idea!
