Help Push a Newbie in the Right Direction.

Hi Warriors,

I created my account a while back but never got to taking action. Now I have, and just need a little guidance to set up the groundwork.

I have found a decent enough niche to target, and have an idea about how to tackle it.

While this may sound good, I have 0 technical know-how. What kind of solution would be best for me? Some details of my requirement to help you out -

1) The site will be content heavy - 50+ articles over a period of time. (Wordpress or Blogger?)

2) Form to collect e-mails (Aweber or Mailchimp?)

Also, it would be great if someone could direct me to a hosting solution that is non-tech friendly.

Thanks in advance.

Im sure there will be some debate, but I would say aweber 100% for your autoresponder needs and hostgator for your hosting!

Both have good tutorials for setting things up and also good support!

    Just my two cents......

I HIGHLY recommend Wordpress, but you can also use Blogger or Weebly.

As far as hosting goes- I've used both Bluehost and Hostgator and they both work well.

Thanks, Hostgator looks good and doesn't seem to be too heavy on the wallet either.

    Welcome aboard ContentJunkie

Hostgator is great. I've never had a problem. Make sure you at least get the "Baby Plan" and not the Hatchling, because it offers unlimited domains. (once you get going at this, you'll be amazed at the number of other domain ideas you'll have.)

Most people really into email marketing use AWeber or Get Response. They seem to be industrial strength. I use AWeber.

I don't know enough about MailChimp to offer any advice, but in one of the skype groups I'm in, someone said they had their Mailchimp account closed because they were using it for internet marketing..

That seems strange to me, but that's what they said. You might want to investigate that a bit, because the last thing you want to do is get a bunch of subscibers on a list and have it closed.

Perhaps someone using Mailchimp can elaborate further.

    All the best.

      @Patrick Betty

I have personally used MailChimp once to send a mail to a list for an uncle of mine. It doesn't have the double opt-in feature that Aweber has which led to complaints against us for spamming. That's why Aweber.

Congrats man on taking action finally

If I were you I would try both WordPress and Blogger. 50+ articles doesn't seem to be too content heavy, so you can choose whichever you like of feel more comfortable with. I prefer WordPress though.

I really like Aweber but haven't tried MailChimp yet. Both of them are great autoresponders.

As for hosting ... HostGator It's just "perfect", their support is great and the price is affordable.

I hope we can read some success story in the near future telling us you made your first $5,000 online
