video software question

Hi

During the last 2 evenings I've been experimenting with Camstudio. It all seems quite user-friendly and I've found a couple of helpful tutorials. What I cannot find though, is information that shows me how to zoom-out to take a full screen shot, and keep with the 320/240 YouTube-compatible size format. Does anyone know how - or if - this can be done with this software?

If not, any suggestion for similar (free) software, with zoom in/out (full screen cap) facility, You-Tube friendly, would be most welcome. Thanks

If I read this correct, you are recording a certain area on your screen, and then you want to expand to include the whole screen...?

If that is the case you cannot extend beyond the parameters of the original screen size.

There is a problem in what you want to do because recording the full screen in Camtasia will result in a memory warning from the software, so it wont actually solve your problem by starting to record the full screen and then zooming in.

What I would do (if you just need a still visual of your screen surface) is take a screen shot, save it as a jpg, and then place it into your after-production as a title image.

Hope I read you right, if not please clarify. I have a lost a lot of hair figuring out some rather cool Camtasia tricks.
