Great tool for those of you marketing SEO to OFFLINE clients

I had a client whose business partner's husband built them a website. He charged the business $2000. It is a pathetic website.

Anyway, I started talking about SEO. She said her hubby took care off all that and the site is great. Well, I found this website called www.metachecker.net It lets you check the meta tags of any website FREE
I entered her website and it showed horrible. As a matter of fact, the bar didnt move a bit.

I didnt get the client - I kinda insulted her hubby to her face, but I found that really great tool.

I checked one of my niche sites with it. I thought I was pretty good. Anyway, I tried Learn To Play Violin and it is border line horrible. That tool has given me some work to do on my own sites.

Again, that website is www.metachecker.net and it is totally free. It should really floor your offline clients when you show them how poorly their site is SEO'd.

    The proper tool then, is to figure out how to help the Husband. It doesn't matter if you perfectly debase their entire setup - even if you do it accurately and with great graphics....

    The job was to get the sale. The proper tool is to present proof of how your skills help them, case studies, testimonials, a guarantee, and offer to the the work to give them similar results.

    Then, you are not competing against his ego, instead you are simply stating your track record vs his. You can even be political and come in as a "consultant" or "trainer", training her husband how to do it so he can do the work. That way he's on your side because he wants the additional work and you are selling the secret sauce, he'll just cook it.

    Always think win/win if you want to score big deals. The littlest people in the puzzle can be the most important piece.

    FYI, the OP now says "metachecker.net" but it's still linked to metachecker.com. So if one is to click on it, it won't work.

    Also, post #4 is linked incorrectly also, as meAtachecker.net. Just wanted to point that out. The site in question here is:
