do you use pinterest yet , if not why not

Any one got the gist of pinterest and how you can get some pretty good SEO from it

I've used pinterest to optimize my site and the result was amazing my site was jumped from #434 to #119 in the first week (and now to be #5 on First Page of Google). in just 3 short weeks.

The trick is we must got our website pinned and repinned by many people this is the hardest part. Most of pinterest users won't doing repin when they aren't like what we pinned.

I do simple thing to outsource it on fiverr and got my site Repinned by 75 people, I don't know how can he did it just search by typing pinterest on fiverr and you will find it on the TOP. Many other seller offer pinterest service on fiverr
As I know currently pinterest is best for Search Engine Optimization for these reason:
1. Once our website pinned it has 3 backlinks counts
2. Google interest in social media signal so it will not tagged as links farm
3. Currently pinterest links are dofollow even the image
4. Even not support anchor text (except the url link), it's still perfect for placing our keywords in description. Google will READ it!!
5. You need to ping the links of your pins to the to get your website increase in Search Engine Optimization
6. Obama The President and Mark Zuckerberg now pinning on Pinterest!

So anymore experiences good and bad welcome on this thread.

So far I have 3 accounts and a bot running on one of them a few hours per day - but I use it reasonably, i.e. I don't use it to spam, mass-comment etc...
I've managed to generate a few hundred repins and some traffic from the account that uses the bot, and also a little bit but less from the others. Nothing really significant so far but I guess you need to build your account like with any social media...

You don't need to, just create multiple boards which is how pinterest works....I have tons and tons of backlinks from just one account.

Pinterest is good for promoting physical products especially in anything related to women since most users have been found to be women.

Yes, I use Pinterest. It is pretty good. It is hard to monetize but I am trying to figure it out. It is also very good for SEO purposes.

      I use a bot and I don't spam...
The two terms are not necessarily synonyms. It depends on the user, of course.

Nice share. But what kind of content you pin to your account? And which type of content do you think people are interested in? I have just created our Pinterest id and it seems not easy to have my website repined.

Excuse me for asking, but after all this - how do you actually use Pinterest for SEO? Isn't it just pinning your pics? Where do the links go? Are they DoFollow?

Yes I do, I have many boards that are listed in Big G organic search. For example...do a search for "apple cider hair rinse"

    Hi,

There can be two types of links: firstly, the picture includes a link to the place it was originally pinned from. Secondly, you can put links in your description. I guess you could put links into your comments too but then you'd be borderline spam IMHO and likely to be reported, personally I won't take that risk.

    Seb.

For quite a few reasons, one of which is the complicated position over copyrights, and all its attendant and unresolved legal and regulatory problems. To be honest, I won't be surprised if "Pinterest" doesn't survive indefinitely, though I suspect some of the issues are complicated enough to take a long time to be resolved.

i have an account with 500+ followers, yesterday i started pinning and i got 300+ unique viewers and 900 page viewers , made 6$ so far , but i think pinterest wont be last long unless they add lots of new features for users, right now its more beneficial for marketers than real users,

I've had success with Pinterest, and I've learned a lot of "tricks" as well. Maybe not tricks, but things that you just have to learn on your own...wrong way and wrong way of doing things.

It can be a great source of traffic for some products and niches, and absolutely nothing for others. Remember your demographics

Definitely sounds interesting but I think I'm going to be the devil's advocate right now haha.

I wouldn't look too deeply into Pinterest unless you already have a stable form of advertising mastered. All I would do is learn it and then hire it out. Reason being is, these "wonder sites" come and go and while they can be effective, you're kind of at the mercy of a big company.

My whole thing is that I want this business to be long term and long term means basing my advertising on things that will be there for a long time. Media buys, lists brokering, JV's, etc.

Pinterest, Adwords, etc should be additional streams of traffic but not the foundation. But hey if it can get backlinks then that's definitely a plus

Wow that got some serious beans going.

I am no expert at pinterest and i think anyone who says they are including some of the WSO sellers are kidding themselves.

I know one thing though , working for a big ISP as a client |SEO consultant has taught me that social media is where it is at as far as SEO is concerned , There are lots and lots of pinterest products out there but none of them really do anything significant , Congrats to the guy who made $6 , that dosen;t sound like a lot but small acorns produce big trees.

I am working on one or two things as far as pinterest is concerned , could i ask all of you to subscribe to my list at seoconstruct.com

Once iu have sussed it out i will be sending out free invites to a web meeting where we all chat amongst ourselfs.

The idea is to get all of us in one room and chatting about how we can make the best out of pinterest before their algorithm change.

      Please subscribe asap

Pinterest seems to be a hot topic lately. I am getting quite a few opt-ins on my ecourse. A lot of people are asking questions about it. The course might be a little elementary for the Warrior Forum, but it is a starting point. http://budurl.com/pinterestecourse
