Building a list as an affiliate?

Is this a good strategy to have prehaps on a presell page or a page attempting to be a authority site? I always thought lists were more for having your own product vs affiliate marketing.

    You can have a simple squeeze page to capture emails from your prospects and market various affiliate offers to them. So you don't have to have your own product to build a list.

    There are several advantages to developing your list. The power is in the list to sell to the same buyers over and over with little more then your recommendations. You can network (JV) with other list owners to exchange lists by cross promotion. All of which you could not do as a single order affiliate. My advice build your list.

    yes, you can still build a list without having your own product. However, make sure the product you promote don't have an optin page form. You want your subscribers to be on your list not any one else's

      I have to agree with the others. Build a list whether you have your own product, or are an affiliate. I have quite a few lists based on affiliate products. You then have a list of people who are interested in a particular niche and can market to them over and over again. Take the time and send them some quality information and make them look forward to receiving your emails.

    You should ALWAYS build your list.

    There are a lot of reasons, but this one is POWERFUL:

    Suppose you decided to go on vacation next month... all you need to do is to quiclkly create a (GOOD) product (or getting a converting aff prog), and promote it to your list the month before you go.

    Isn't this a good reason?

    Bottom line: build your list, help them to get what they want, and they will reward you with money.

    I guess, you need to put up a squeezepage to be able to build your list. You may then post your link to the squeeze page in conspicous websites or areas so they can signup to your list. Or you can also, offer freebies in exchange for a signup.

        Always aim to build a list. Even if you don't know what you will promote to them in the future.

        You can get affiliate commission for selling just about anything these days and you might not currently know what they will be interested in other than the affiliate product you are currently promoting, but in a few months time, you might find out about something that is just right for them and that is when your list of a few hundred or a few thousand people will provide you with an instant payday.

        If you didn't have the list, you would have to start promoting this new product from scratch. With the list you have the potential of instant money while you start your promotion.

        Bottom line: Always build the list even if you are not clear right now, what you will use the list for in the future.

        Building the list is one of the biggest things that separate those affiliates that earn a few dollars a month from those that earn thousands.

    Find or make a report about your niche, and give it away via a squeeze page. Then simply promote affiliate products via the list.

    Surely your inbox is full of pitches with affiliate links?
