Location Location Location!

I thought I would share a tip on here that I'm reminded of today.

When you launch an offer it may get absolutely no sales. This does not necessarily mean it was a bad offer, just a bad location to advertize that particular product.

Yesterday I launched a product to a test list of writers and they were all over it, great conversions. Today I tried it as a WSO (not the one in the sig) and it tanked. A few sales and it is nearly off the front page.

Keep in mind that the offer was exactly the same. This is important because it shows that you need to be aware of your market place.

I know many people that launch a product, then if it doesn't sell they assume it is a dead loss. Nothing could be further from the truth.

If you launch a product to the wrong crowd they won't like it as it isn't relevant to them. What you need to do is go back and look at who makes up your target market. Find those people and advertize to them, then you will see sales and success.

How much different is the Warrior Forum prospects from your test list of writers? Any other theories as to why your WSO didn't perform well?

The only difference is that my list are all writers and the offer targets writers. So when I offered it to writers they loved it, when I offered it to marketers the majority thought it was not for them.

I have noticed quite a few offers miss-targeted in this way, though I am especially bad for it.

This isn't a problem though, as I shall just concentrate on advertizing to writers, like I did on my test. I just thought I'd mention it, as I suspect others who haven't thought about their targeting may get put off after one bad launch, especially if it was their first attempt.

I totally agree. This is great advice for the forum - don't assume that your product or service is bad just because it doesn't sale particularly well in one aspect of your marketing campaign.

    Thanks Colin.
