Purchasing Articles for Wordpress Blog

I've got a WordPress blog up and running, and there is a service for my niche (if you want to call it that) that has a monthly subscription service. Each weekday of the month you'll receive an article to publish on your blog. However, everyone else using this service is receiving the same article.

Obviously I would want to modify some of the content and on occassion add to it so I can zero in on my keywords. And would also be posting my own content 2-3 times per week.

So are there any negative SEO consequences from the same article (or close to it) being posted on different blogs across the US?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

    First, good, or better yet excellent-quality unique articles will always beat previously-posted ones. With that said, posting PLR, or "already used" articles won't HURT your site, but it won' help it much either. If you don't have sufficient funds to pay for top-notch unique content (and I don't recommend settling for low-quality ones), your best bet would be re-writing PLR articles or starting from scratch. There's spinning software to assist with the rewriting, but don't fully rely on it to do the hard work for you... it simply provides a place to start.

    Sorry for sarcasm, but this looks like ONE ***y service to me. What's the point in this? Are you paying for this? Rather spend a few bucks on a writer and get REAL, new articles for your blog instead of re-hashed PLR articles anyone and their mama uses.

    The focus of the articles is Mortgage related. With that said I can't imagine there are 1000s upon 1000s of people using this service. And I haven't begun to look (yet) but would believe it will be somewhat difficult to find a writer who has a good enough grasp on mortgages and the constantly changing landscape of the housing market unless they themselves where in the industry.

    I will search through the forum and try to locate some reputable sources for article writing and see what I come up with.
