squeeze page with an article?

INTERNET MARKETING

I´m using ppc to get visitors, at first I did a simple redirect, but I´m guessing that the customer needs to be presold before making a purchase, so I entered my squeeze page instead, but get almost no signup with my 80 clicks.

So I´m thinking that i should restructure my sqeeze page so that it begins with a great informative article, and then at the end offer a free report, do you think this will work better?

It needs to be original quality work whatever you decide to do, I think Google have been cracking down on one page sites or squeeze pages as they're called. I agree though to describe to your buyer what they will be getting first and sell it to them is the way forward.

You can know only by split-testing, Karl.

It may work better; it may work worse. But however you look at it, it won't be a "squeeze page" if it has an article on it. A "squeeze page" is a page with a prominently incentivized opt-in and no other content. It will be a different kind of opt-in page.

If I had to guess, I'd say that "at the end" is the wrong place to have an opt-in box.

In my own business, I don't use squeeze pages at all, after all the split-testing I've done with them. Whenever I've used a squeeze page in the past, I've built a bigger list but made less money from it.
