How do I find affiliates for my self-help product that just got really good reviews.

Okay,

I'm sort of a newbie at IM. Not really. I've been "studying" for a long time, I'm just new at taking action, because I wanted to make sure I have a winner on my hands.

Apparently I do, just because I got a 5 out of 5 star review for my self-help program.

I'm looking for affiliates, but for all of the IM training I bought...I don's seem to much recall any that dealt with this topic in any sort of depth.

Anyone have any advice on how or where to find affiliates adn how to screen or manage? (Is this even necessary?)

Anone having any success with the paid listings part of this site for their own affiliate program?

Thanks a bunch for any pointers, and I hope I can help you all back, someday.

- Paul

Your 5 out of 5 is important but not that much.

The bigger question is what's the conversion of your sales page? What does you sales funnel look like?

How much can be made from your product?

These are some of the questions you have to answer first. That's before you even think of affiliates.

Without these answers nobody cares about your product.

    Yeah, crap - you're right.

I haven't gone in depth yet.

How I do I calculate conversions? Do I need Google Analytics? Or can I just go into awstats and calculate visits vs sales?

How do you recommend this, if at all?

And sales funnel - you mean like squeeze page to list to sales page, right?

Wouldn't an affiliate have SOME of that, though? Like their own list?

What am I missing conceptually here, if you have the time to respond.

    Thanks a bunch,

    - Paul

      Hi Paul,

To answer your question on how to recruit affiliates here are some thoughts you might find useful

      1) Research your niche related keywords in Google and find out blogs and websites that rank relatively high. Most of these blogs should have an email capturing system in place. These websites are your potential affiliates. Get in touch with the owners of the websites/blogs, offer them a review copy and a great deal in terms of affiliate commissions and see how it goes form there.

      2) There are ezine directories that list ezines from various niches. Look around for a few suitable ezines and contact their owners for a potential affiliate relationship.

      3) Get your product listed on a market place like clickbank.com where list owners and website owners looking for quality products will find you and promote you as affiliates.

      4) Find experts in your field and request them to review your products. Offer them a generous commissions on any sales made through them and thus recruit them as affiliates.

My suggestion to deal with this situation would be to get creative and interact with people in your industry. Think out of the box and you will be surprised with what you achieve.

      Hope that helps

Here is a key concept: when you create your "entry level" product the goal is to get someone into your funnel so you can develop a long term business relationship with them.

So your book, or whatever your product is, is just the first step for the customer to get into your system.

Then you have other products, with increasingly higher prices too.

So the affiliate knows they can keep making money with you for a long time.

You may have heard this before: it's easier to sell to someone who has already bought from you, than to a new person.

In your niche, you can probably develop higher end products including coaching.

Your basic conversion stats are visitors/sales. There are other figures you want to look at but these are the most basic to start with.

For this niche, I would spend a good amount of time on Linkedin. There seems to be a great deal of people from the self-help niche there and it's a good place to form relationships and learn about other people's businesses.

As far as your current conversion rate goes, it may not matter too much to these folks. It really depends on where the traffic is coming from and whether or not you were "recommended".

If a list-owner "recommends" a product to their list, it depends on how good of a relationship that list-owner has with his list as to what the response is.

There is an affiliate section here on Warriorforum that you might want to check out

    Affiliate Program Database

There are also probably some warriors with big lists in your niche on the forum.

See if you can find them and split the profit 50/50

You have already gotten a lot of good advice in this thread about getting affiliates on board. But my advice is to get a number of affiliates on board PRIOR to launching your product (particularly if you are launching on WF) - having good conversions when you launch is vital, which means you need people promoting, which means you need affiliates --> and having good conversions will get other affiliates on board as well....

Are you selling on WF or have an independant website?

Some of the best ways to recruit affiliates are..

    1. Announce your Affiliate program on IM forums
    2. List it on a reputed marketplace
    3. Offer bonus commission on performance
    4. provide authentic promotional tools (email, short pitch, photos, videos, banners etc)
    5. Contact potential JV partners with a review copy and sales stats
    6. Ask your customers to promote you on their social networks

The most important thing is to have a high converting sales pitch and very high customer satisfaction.

If you're listing on CB, then spend about $200 on Adwords to make some sales to boost it's Gravity. Once your gravity is more than 15, you'll automatically attract more affiliates.

Remember, while promoting on Adwords use affiliate link - that way your stats would should higher affiliate payout - looks more attractive to affiliates.
