Getting listed on 1st page of Google

Okay, I've done it twice. I don't know how big of a deal it is but I wrote an article on EzineArticles with the title "How to unplug your toilet" and within a couple of days (or maybe earlier - I didn't check) it was #3 after a couple of videos. Almost 3 weeks have gone by and I have over 200 people who've read it.
Today I wrote a post to my blog about half an hour ago and put my post's title in quotes and it came up #5. Can I expect about the same amount of traffic to my blog as I got to my article?

    Depends on how many people search for your keyword term, I would imagine that just about ANY site at number five would do pretty good for ANY keyword. Good job!

      Looks like I may have some pretty good days ahead. Normally, I get about 20 to 25 page views in a whole day. Here it is 5 and a half hours from my posting here and I've gone from 5 to 21 and there's lots of time left in the day!

    Your blog can get you as many view as before if it ranks like your previous article... and more if you can make it sticky with backlinks.

    Getting listed on 1st page of Google can be easy sometimes, it really depends on the keyword you are trying to rank well.
    For example, getting on Google's 1st page for "cars" is way harder than getting on the 1st page for "custom cars".

      Now if you really want to bomb google

      1. Do a video with keyword rich terms
      2. RSS the video
      3. Bookmark the video
      4. RSS the bookmark for the video
      5. RSS your blog
      6. Ping your blog
      7. Bookmark the article on your blog
      8. Add your video to your blog
      9. RSS the bookmark
      10. Create a lens around your keyword
      11. Create a word press blog around your keyword
      12. Repeat the process above....You will cover the front page.

    In my experience, some text links to killer affiliate products bring more monthly profit than any adsense setup.
