I am looking for software where when someone opts in, I offer them another cool gift but on the condition that they refer 3 other people that actually subscribe. Any good software you would recommend?

There is a wordpress plugin called List Eruption! It does exactly that. Offer a free gift and if they refer it to 1 or 2 or 3, etc friends they get a second free gift. Basically they grow your list for you.

    Cheers

One other option you have, if you have a twitter account is to use a script called pay with a tweet, similar to your tell a friend, but it makes users tweet a message to receive their download.

    Google "pay with a tweet"

      Take a look at jivenow

There's a refer a friend feature, but you need to learn how to use it.

Delaying the gift until friends actually subscribe is a bit harsh.

Such conditions will harm the viral co-efficient and potentially ruin your campaign before it starts. The whole point of these tell a friend scripts is to increase your viral co-efficient by making it easy for people to share.

Image if you went into a bar, and the owner had a poster up with details of how to get free bar snacks by logging into 4square and saying where you were having a drink.

On doing this you go to the bar to claim your snacks, and the owner tells you to look at the small print. You're friends need to turn up and buy a drink before I give you the free snack.

I'm pretty sure you'd be pissed off with this owner.

So I suggest you change the requirements to just telling friends.

In terms of scripts Mike Filsaime had some neat ones, but I'm sure that bigger and better wordpress plugins are available for much less than he was charging.

hmm interesting point. It was something I was pondering over as well as to which type of referral method would be best. I think your one makes for a better user experience which is what it's ultimately down to. Though if I specify up front that the people they've referred to must subscribe then there'd be no problems I'm guessing? Does anyone else have opinions on this?

I want to get this right because I know I will make money when I get my page up and this extra method will definitely drive me more sales as I have a good email sequence intricately planned out with what I've mainly learnt from Frank Kern.

I want to point out that I'm not tech savvy, so anything involving heavy HTML is sort of not for me right now. I have my squeeze page set up, Im using wordpress, so which one would be the best and easiest to implement on my thank you page?

Is Frank Kern's Good Karma easily implementable? I've seen it before but don't know the exact details. Like, do the referred people HAVE to opt in as well for the referrer to get the extra free gift?

      All help is greatly appreciated!

There are some viral scripts that do pretty similar stuff, where the visitor gets something free or discounted if they refer the site to their friends via email.

You can Google viral script to see a couple of 'em

I would prefer one where the referrer gets an affiliate link that they can post wherever they want instead of being forced to email. Do you know of any good ones like that?

I tried Frank Kerns Good Karma but could not integrate it with my optimize press theme that Im using.
