Should I do this to my CB sales page?

I try to find a way to make my CB product sales page look like a "normal" site, to get back the lost Google love (if that is possible :rolleyes

Do you think that a blog post widget at the sales page would give spiders enough food to keep the penguins happy?

And does CB cookie the affiliate links who send traffic to the sales page, who maybe visit a blog post before they buy the product.

Thanks

G.

    Hi,

Your salespage can be search engine friendly if relevant and valuable. A lot of Amazon pages appear at the top of Google for different searches.

If you do add a blog, make sure that it doesn't take away from visitors reading your salespage and making a decision.

Yes, if someone clicks on an affiliate link, they are cookied regardless of what they do after the fact (unless they delete or block cookies).

If penguin is your problem then you must forget the on-page elements for this....

Your problem is off-page (excessive backlinks and such stuff) so please consider this if penguin is creating a problem for you....

    Serious
ClickBank affiliates (the 5% of them who collectively bring in about 95% of the affiliate-referred sales) are hardly going to be willing to send their traffic to a leaky sales page, with links to a blog on it. Please excuse my bluntness but this is truly a dreadful idea. The answer is no, you definitely shouldn't even dream of doing it, if you want to attract and retain any professional affiliates.

      Hi Alexa

This was always my take but we generate 80% sales over organic traffic for buyer keywords.

I'd like to get back to Google's first page AND guarantee to Affiliates that their traffic will make them commissions over the sales page OR the Blog.

The Blog is totally focused on the sites content/niche and offers additional free info with value. So there is no leaking away from the site.

I hope that Affiliates will make also sales over traffic which comes from the sales funnel for the freebie. I guess that's also a cookie issue.

By the way, thanks to all the answers.

However you must have good quality content and not just copy and paste articles from other places, so you build backlinks to your site naturally (also spelled... virally!)

Spot on....exactly what we wanna do.

The Blog has ONLY relevant content to the CB product in it. No affiliate offers, cross selling or banners etc.
