Who are the best Internet marketers to learn from?

If you had to give 2-3 of the best Internet marketers at a reasonable cost to learn from who would they be? Does anyone have an opinion on Mike Klingler or subscribe to his theory of marketing? I rather admire him. But there must be other good ones...

Tom Ness is a really great guy who I love to learn from. His products are inexpensive, very step-by-step, and he is the type of guy that is only an email away if you get stuck. I highly recommend checking out his stuff.

His products made a HUGE impact on my IM career. His Rapid Affiliate System got me on the fast track to ClickBank checks and I make a really nice income from my ClickBank affiliate sites alone now.

Buy Jay Abraham's book "Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got" for under $12 from Amazon. Once you understand marketing, figuring out how to market via the internet is the easy part.

          I second that.

That's one of the most LIFECHANGING books I've ever read.

I agree 100%. Right now I'm learning as much as I can through Tom's products. He's been such a help... a great teacher... makes learning stress-free and super productive!

I grew up in the same town that Frank Kern likes to diss so much. His ideas are stellar... really smart guy... and I laugh till my ribs ache at the Macon stories he weaves in and out of his priceless lessons... but sometimes I sure wish someone would give that Georgia boy a big old bar of soap!!! LOL! His mouth could use a good bath now and then... as I'd bet most of us little old SugarBaker ladies don't really take too kindly to that gun-totin', drug-dealin', Southern Mafia trash talkin' kind of talk from marketers ... even if it IS rip-roaring hysterically funny the way he tells it.

(Had to say something to stand up for all my MaconGA sorority sisters, lol).

I would really recommend Tristan Bull. I had been spinning the wheels for quite a while so to speak before I started learning from Tristan and he's been the major reason I've started seeing some big success lately.
The difference with him is that, apart from having some great strategies, he is approachable and willing to help. One of the keys to success, as far as I can see, is to have a mentor, someone who will not only hold you accountable to follow through, but who will give you some faith in yourself that you can do it. Tristan has certainly done that for me.

There's not really such a thing as "best IM'er to learn from". There are a lot of good IMers that you can learn from, on this forum or out of this forum, you just need to use your own common sense to see which one fits you best.

Yeah! You should work with a guy or a girl that makes you feel confident... Anyway, more than buying coaching, you are building a relationship that will make a difference in your life.

Great comment. Really, the best way to learn is to find someone that is doing what you want to be doing and is successful (<-- rather important), and model what they do.

I know, I know. I make it sound so simple. But sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution

First you must know what you want to learn first. You want to get traffic, create sales page, blog or what? Be more specific.

Learning from all in one IM is not the best idea. You will end up with basic information.

If you want to learn something really valuable you have to know which area you want to improve and only after that look for a mentor.

That's what I was going to say. It depends on which "field" of IM you want to go into. Some folks are masters at CPA while others do "Offline Marketing" like a pro. Still others are major list-builders. What do you want to learn? Figuring that out first will determine who you will want to learn from.

      Great answer.

The biggest mistake most people make starting out is they think they need a whole pile of information and insider secrets before they can get started.

But really marketing is quite simple...get to know what your prospects really want and need and offer it to them in a way that compels them to buy.

Taking action on a very small amount of information is a thousand times better than filling your mind with a pile of information you don't use.

And you can find enough information to get you started right here in the Warrior Forum.

      Kindest regards,

I will have to agree it is like asking who is the best sportsman or women... in what? It depends on what your personal needs are and where you need help the most. I mean if you have the best SEO person in the business but you do not have a website and do not know how to build one what good does it do?

Specialist in different catagories will shine when they are needed but first make the decision what needs to shine.

I totally agree with your opinion. One thing that scares me wi the following: do these guys really analyse what we really know and suggest us something to cover our weak points or they just sell their products?

If you want to skip the learning curve and make money then do this:

If you have 497 dollars plus an extra 30 dollars and can afford 10 dollars per month on hosting then do this:

Head over to the warrior for hire section
Look for the title we build money machine
They are offering you 3 websites monetize with your choice of clickbank, amazon, adsense or cpa offers
They will build you a quality website that converts
The keyword research is excellent by the way
They will optimized your site and also rank it on the first page
You will have to pay 30 dollars for the three domain they recommend you to purchase
You will have to have your own hosting

The most important part though is patience, patience and more patience

This guys, build quality content that is going to convert
      You must be patient

The best part is that after your site is finish and ranking on the first page of google, you will have 90 days from that time to see if you are satisfy and making you good money, if you are not for any reason then you will get your complete money back. Plus you get to keep your websites

This is a freaking awesome guarantee
They do this because they are 100% sure that you will make money with all 3 of your sites because if they were not sure they wouldn't be wasting all their time and effort just so you can get 3 free sites.

I am in the process of getting them done, but I heard other customer who have money already and have gotten their 497 dollars investment back.

      That is great news.

or you can take a course and try to learn everything yourself in which there is absolutely nothing wrong with that if you have the time, motivation and dedication.

      Wish you the best

I think it really depends on where you want your IM career to go. For instance, I tried for a long LONG time to break into affiliate marketing and I was just not able to. I followed all of the 'big players' but had never made any real money.

But I was good at writing, so when I started following Tiffany Dow (a ghostwriter/PLR writer), she taught me how to make a real living doing something that came easily to me.

If I had stuck with the affiliate marketing model I would still be spinning my wheels.

So my advice is to think about what you want to focus on now (offering services, creating products, copyrighting, list building) and then find the person in that area that everyone on the WF is talking about.

Some random people that I like: Tina Williams and Maria Guadellis(?) - big overdeliverers, Tiffany Dow - always answers my emails, and Nicole Dean

    Hope this helps

ABSOLUTELY. There are some coaches that charge $25,000/day or more! At the end of the day, much of IM is about changing little things and that having big differences so super high end coaching has its place.

If you met with a coach who charged $100,000 for an hour but in that hour he told you one little thing that turned your business from $100,000/month to $300,000/month, would it be worth it? Of course. $100,000 is a crazy amount of money for an hour coaching but that doesn't mean the student is getting value or the coach is charging too much.

That is just an example to illustrate the point

I would really narrow your search to those who have succeeded in business model (product creation/marketing, affiliate marketing (further separated by tangible versus infoproduct affiliate marketing), software, etc...) and marketing technique (blogging, video marketing, content syndication, product launches, social networking, etc...)

IM itself is about Marketing...which assumes you have a solid online business value proposition, product and position in place...even then, IM itself has grown to such a degree that the experts are now within sub-niches (as I outlined above) in terms of specialization.

The reason I say this is that you may pick a big name, but it may turn out HIS or HER way of doing this isn't well matched to your idea, desired business model or marketing strengths.

Instead of a mentor the best thing to have is a partner. This is why...

    1. A mentor will simply charging you money for his product. Whether that be a course or coaching program. I've personally been on some of them.
    2. However, the things you learn means you'll be doing it all alone. That's hard! I know from personal experience.

However, it all gets better when you have a partner or partners. This is why...

    1. No-one knows everything. However, someone else nearly always knows something we would like to. So you learn from each other.
    2. You also come to the table with different skills. This means you do what you're good at and the other person/s do what they do best. This works together like a jigsaw.

      So for example...

You maybe good at writing sales copy, article marketing and finding out what products customers want. I am good at creating products fast and creating graphics and can do good marketing.

Big companies are very successful because they work with other companies. So we both know this is the way forward.
    3. You can get better market reach by combining efforts in marketing. You can link to each other. When splitting profits on sales you both benefit each other and this is motivating.
    4. You relax more because you know you're not on your own struggling.
    5. It doesn't cost you money it makes you money.

This is a great idea! I personally have benefited in IM from this type of arrangement.

The one benefit you didn't mention was the motivational aspect of working with a team. We keep each other going and we have each other's backs.

Almost forgot Dennis Becker and his $5 A Day book I just bought in a WSO here. Snapped me right out of my writer's block, perpetual procrastination, and shiny object syndrome, and helped me quickly, very quickly, pop out a list of ToDo's and a simple plan to keep me productively building mulitiple residual incomes, one project at a time. I highly recommend him, his little book, and his smart little $5 a day plan.

I'm sure there are plenty of other good mentors out there and much of the information is the same. I think the secret is how they teach and have you retain the information. I think that the three mentors above due a good job of keeping modules short and interesting. They also provide homework assignments which produces a good way to TAKE ACTION!

Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

For overall learning, I like to learn from Peter Garety, Chris Munch, Matt Carter, Andrew Hansen. They provide indepth step by step instructions with out costing a fortune, especially Peter. I have found them to be integrable teachers and they interact a lot with their customers (students). Because of a lot of internet marketing "gurus" tactics I find myself being very cynical when it comes to IM. I don`t feel that way with these guys.

Again, another guru who won't tell us about his professional history. All we are told is that in 2009 he quit his day job. To do what, exactly? Teach people how to make money online? WHAT qualifies him to do that? WHAT prior actual experience does he have?

These are things that should be on about me pages.

Known for it by who and how? Because he told you he was successful or because he has a professional history that we can go look at? What are his sites? Can we go look at them in Archive.org? These are the things you need to ask about before giving someone your money. (Not calling out Kenster. I don't know him. I'm just speaking in general.)

    Hi folks,

The main thing is to move away from Internet Marketing as a general rule, and move into Executive Online Broadcasting Consulting.

We just spent the last 3 years and 1 million dollars preparing for the new changes with curation, Google, and the rest. Built a system to organize your outsourcing team, Gigz, and mass-produce websites and social networks that are alive.

Find teachers that teach you "top level" executive skill sets.

Hope to see you in our neck of the woods, and inside our elite software community.

Summary: Forget IM and move into Online Empire Executive Consulting or Investing.

Pick the ones whose style , products and approach you like...

When people say you can read in the forum all you want and learn , it is doable but you have to ultra focused and really badly need success.. If you are like trying this part time with the hopes of a full time move in the upcoming months then it is safe to join a mastermind and / or coahicng so you dont spend outside of that..else you can end up spending lots of hard earned $$$$ and lead to frusturations..

Again what is the point of info products, it's not finding any inventive solutions, it's primarily compiling and filtering a lots of information so one can consume in a fast, effective manner and crank out results faster.....

I think what is important is that you do not end up being a follower but putting into action at least one or 2 of the techniques you learn from your favorite Imer. These super gurus have mastered the art of selling and if you are not careful, you end up being a buyer of everything of theirs, get over whelmed and you may fail to set off.

That said, the internet marketing community and tactics change sooo fast. New marketers come up with their own style applicable to that time. I remember, the first person from whom I learnt how to make my first $1000 online was JP Schoeffe. He is good, honest but I think not a very common name.

I also learned much from Russell Brunson, Mike filsaime, willie Crawford, Terry Dean and Jimmy D Brown. But I have also learnt alot from other “small name” Internet marketers especially here on the warrior forum. And some times, they make a big difference.

Already some big hitters mentioned here and I think some of the names i'm going to mention have been said already but they really do teach things exceptionally well.
In no particular order there's John Thornhill, Lee McIntyre, Chris Farrell and one I've recently found to work quite well with different aspects of my online business is Alex Jeffries.

They will each give you a good grounding as to what you need to know in order to become successful online with your own business.

Hope it works whichever ever route you decide to go down, but ultimately I would advise getting yourself a coach to ensure that you are doing things correctly and in the order you need to do in order to maximise profits while continuing to deliver quality content to your customers.

    Never pay for anything.

But if you must......... If someone's business revolves around teaching, move on. Find someone that makes their money doing instead of flapping their jaws about how you can make a million bucks online. Most importantly, ask to see their websites. If all they show you are "make money online!" type sites, they are what we call a fake guru. You want, for example, Mark Zuckerberg to show you his Facebook.com before you pay him to teach you how to run a social network. If your guru/mentor can't show you much of anything, consider that a red flag.

Chris Farrell - perfect for newbies, you will learn all the technical aspects of Internet Marketing

Jordan Belfort - he is not an internet marketer. He has a product Straight Line Persuasion where he teaches the psychology of selling. You probably won't find there something you can implement right now but it is pretty informative.

Frank Kern - as he himself said you sell the experience. His style is very Matthew McConaughey like. So he tries to make the experience of you learning from him to feel cool. You will find a lot of valuable information in Mass Control.

John Carlton - he is considered one of the best copywriters in Internet Marketing. Gotta say often his products are pretty boring but I think they are worth checking out.

What I would like to know, who are the best marketers WHO MAKE MOST OF THEIR MONEY OUTSIDE OF IM NICHE to learn from. Honestly, sometimes the IM niche reminds me of MLM - selling products and services to others who are in IM, so they can sell their services to others in IM...etc. Kind of a world of its own, for its own sake.
I think, that unless you are in IM niche, you would probably learn more real-world tactics from a head (or even people on lower positions) of marketing department of a real world company who creates the strategy, working on improving conversions, and higher customer acquisition than from most of the people mentioned in this thread.

Yes I'll double that Frank Kern is the man. Eben Pagan is also very talented at marketing I rarely see his name mentioned here (he has also dominated and sold more products than most "gurus" I can think of). Any guys who have worked with or within the seduction community are usually very skilled with marketing. This is because they're experts at applied nlp something I have been studying most my life. These men do not just know how to write nlp but how to use it in social environments.

Frank Kern used a ton of nlp on his customers and most of them don't even realize how the methods work (on them). They just like the guy cause he's "cool" (nlp and reverse engineering celebrity status/high social status are very similar concepts).

Then I got to throw Dan Kennedy in there along with Gary Halbert.

Between these 4 alone I don't really need another mentor.

    Completely disagree.

So when Frank Kern helped Neil Strauss break a million dollars in one day releasing "The Annihilation Method" tell me WHAT IN THE WORLD that had to do with "biz op scams"?

That seminar helped more men than you can possibly imagine and nothing about it was a scam.

What about when Eben Pagan released his "double your dating" seminars?

Those were also a major hit and helped a ton of guys reinvigorate their sex lives.

Or Frank Kerns Mass Control I guess you think that was a "biz op scam" too?

Or "traffic gieser" all these IDIOTS who spent money trying to dominate the internet ... made good money in the process... I guess they all got scammed too?

Or the tons of people who made a killing on youtube when MVB came out?
Yep, those were all really just scams as well.

If you want to talk about scams, talk about Anthony Morrison. He is one of the only "gurus" I can honestly say is a scam.

There are tons of gurus who have done more for this world than you will EVER REALIZE.

Also, saying "internet marketing" doesn't exist is like saying google doesn't exist. So you're telling me super affiliates are just a myth, they don't build massive lists, then send promotions to their lists and make a ton of money doing so?

Yeh I must just be living in a fantasy world all this time.

Care to list some specifics? Because all I see are people who failed to make money online, so they instead sold the dream they were so familiar with to other newbies.

Those guys you speak of are great showmen. They were able to take newbie level info and present it as gold. I've yet to see any advanced info come out of that core group of gurus at the top. They stuff they talk about has little profit potential. Even Kern himself has admitted that his customers don't make money with his products. He sugarcoats it by saying it's because they don't take enough action, but whatever.... it's all the same. No money is no money.

Also, don't be so quick to believe product launch sales figures. They are a sales gimmick in and of themselves. If newbie guru x is trying to be like big fake guru x, fake sales numbers are going to help draw in those newbies. "Well, gee, I'm trying to be like Mr Fake Guru. And since he had a $30 Million launch, I'll bet he can teach me a lot!" I'm sorry. It's all fake. There was no $30 Million launch.

I notice a model called article syndication as a means of driving traffic by the many helpful posts that Alexa Smith has contributed. Her and some other warrior I listen to on this topic are, John Mcabe, Myob, Joe Robinson, AnniePot, Mike Myers

Eric Holmlund has a ton of info on his blog and free newsletters and he's not always selling you something either.
For amazon, check out Erica Stone and for Adsense, Eric Nelson. Neither of these over-do it with trying to get you to buy affiliate products to make $ off you.
Peter Garety is very good too in terms of his teaching but one problem is he's always selling affiliate stuff via your email (some of it's good and some ain't so good imho).

I was introduced to a whole boatload of top notch IM people through Willie Crawford but I gotta give my vote to Eric Louviere and Bill McIntosh, who, when their powers combine form the Job Crusher crew. The platinum (or extreme) membership offers hundreds of hours worth of top notch training on the most important topics you need to know about to be successful. They do weekly content packed webinars and answer any and all questions, as well as do site/ copy critiques. The thing I like the most is that they constantly drive home the idea that chasing "magic buttons" (ie make a million dollars by tomorrow night by clicking 3 buttons) and focus on building a real business that can make you real consistent money.

    Rock n Roll is BACK!

Best piece of advice I've ever received... "Listen, just shut the F*#^ up and listen!" (Because there's always going to be people who have been doing what you do/ want to do for much longer. Shut up, listen to them and learn from them)
