Hello.

Few days ago i was reading here about the wp-e-commerce plugin for wordpress.
For three days I`ve been strugglin to set it up. At first I was able to install the plugin on a fresh wordpress blog, but the products page just didn`t appear.
Now I`m having problems to make it even start. I`m trying to install the latest version of it and it just gives me an error.
I know this is not the right place to talk about this exact plugin, but the support that they provide is`nt so awesome at all.

I thought maybe you could suggest some good plugins to me that you are using to create and manage an online store.

Thanks

Yak Shop seems to be a pretty popular one

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

    thanks
Hmm so far it seems that Yak does`nt have user frienly add products and all that stuff...
I`m looking for a plugin that i could set up along with the site and then the owner of the shop could easily add and modify products and stuff.

Try http://www.markettheme.com/- it's fairly straight forward - and is an 'all inclusive' license - you can use it on as many sites as you want as long as they are yours for $55.

Support is through a pretty active forum

The new kid on the block is Shopp which I was lucky enough to be a beta tester for. It's a great plugin with great support. It is a paid plugin however https://shopplugin.net/store/ so if you are just doing one site going with Market Theme (that has an inbuilt shopping cart plugin) may be a more economic solution.

I`m now even considering about giving up on this, but I can`t got to keep your promises
Hmm it`s hard to get any good free plugins to work...

Tryed E-shop now, but it`s not working properly too can`t add any product.
Okay should get back on searching and testing plugins.

Maybe the problem is just the installation because they have several features and don't have enough step by step guide/manual.

Thanks again. I hope there won`t be any problems with this plugin

I used the WordPress 2.7.1 and v 3.6.9 of wp-e-commerce here --> Excellent Wordpress Themes

Be sure to uninstall your previous version and use v.3.6.9

    Juris,

With wp-ecommerce, did you create a page, switch to html mode and paste in

    [productspage]

Your shop would then be found at

    yoursite.com/products-page/

If it still doesn't show, go to settings > permalinks and update

    wp-ecommerce works, I use it.

Thanks guys for all your help it now works I just need to get all my products up and select some nice theme for the shop.
I was struglin to set it up for like two days... Good that i posted a thread and got some help

Just wondering is there any option for getting all the blogroll things off the page so it would look like a normal site not a blog. Or that is adjustable by changing theme?

You can remove it in your theme.

Read this - You may not need a plugin if you require a basic shop setup and you already use some shopping system to maintain your customers.

Hope you will find it useful!

        Hi Juris,

I can understand your frustrations with setting up an shopping cart plugin for Wordpress. I've tested most of them in the market and have written a review for each of them and by far WP eCommerce is probably the best "free" plugin to use.

Though if you have some money to spend, I would try the Shopp plugin as it's quite effective as well.

You can read my review at: internetbusinesspath.com/reviews/wp-e-commerce-review-for-wordpress

Also, have you considered using an e-commerce software and integrating Wordpress into the system? E.g. combining Magento oscommerce and Wordpress together? They have plugins to work with each other.

I would like to see if people are interested also to find out how to setup WP e-Commerce on their blog and make money from it as well?

        Thanks.
