What problems do you foresee with my marketing strategy?
The plugin has been offered on here as a WSO by its former owner so I'd like to know if there would be any issues with running another WSO as the new owner?
I think I saw a strategy like this on the forums somewhere so forgive me if I've plagiarised, but here is what I had in mind:
- Transfer site and sales page
- Improve SEO profile of the site (currently just a sales page which I understand Google hates)
- Initiate slow-burn SEM campaign, creating a few backlinks based around longtail keywords each week.
- Run another WSO if possible (it was promoted via a WSO a few months back)
- Collect testimonials and refine what I offer the customer
- Run WSO on similar forums (if they exist! Any recommendations?)
- Collect more info from customers, refine offer and product
- Setup affiliate system (probably via Clickbank)
- Approach authority bloggers to review my plugin (offering affiliate sales at high % to them)
- Approach other prospective JVs (forum owners) for similar setup
- Initiate paid-marketing campaign (probably paid ads on niche-relevant sites)
I'm planning on outsourcing very little until I know the processes involved back to front. I've also done a little market research and read that while there are a few competitors on the market (good sign, shows there is a niche) a number of customers are disgruntled by the quality of their support and indeed the functionality of the product they've bought.
I'd like to compete by delivering better support and a better product. Without giving away too much, I'm considering how to solve the customer's problem from an interesting angle but don't think I can call that until I've got a better idea of who the customer is and why they bought my product.
As I said, I've read an awful lot about IM and business but I'm guilty of doing very little. Can anyone help me to build a stronger strategy here? What am I missing?
