Are you earning from Hubpages?

I'm thinking of joining Hubpages but I'm not sure I would earn or not.

If you are experienced earning with HubPages then please share here.

Do I need to have knowledge of keyword research so that I can write article on less competitive keyword?

How can I rank my hub for better result?

If I use Adsense then the revenue is 100% or some share Hubpages takes?

Please clarify my doubts!

Thanks!

Yes, I am earning from HubPages. Most of my hubs are short, product-review hubs that promote Amazon products. They typically rank quickly and they rank well.

Hubpages used to be a really good site. But without warning, they deleted a number of hubpages that I'd had for years.

Yeah, they did go through a purge. However, my hubs we largely unaffected. That is the risk you run when publishing on a platform you don't own. That's why I use them to supplement my own sites.

I have had a hubpages account for years and yes i used to earn a decent amount of affiliate commissions through them but like all things good things come to an end.

I mostly use them nowadays which is few and far between for free traffic to my blog and squeeze pages. They do not allow affiliate links last time I checked.

Actually, they DO allow affiliate links.. For example, Amazon sales are probably the biggest earner there at the moment.

They don't allow links to clickbank or squeeze pages.

      To the OP:

Yes, I have found Hubpages worthwhile, and I still make regular affiliate sales there. I do not use adsense, keywords, or search engine traffic though, so for that strategy, perhaps Wolfmmiii could advise?

It has been my experience that their search engine traffic fluctuates; it took a massive hit this time last year, and has only since recovered to about half of what it was overall. Many people report that their Hubpages adsense earnings are somewhere between abysmal, and non-existent (although that could also be slowly improving with their rankings).

I'd be glad to. My sole focus with my hubs is Amazon product reviews. I don't make much with advertising but my click-through rates and conversion rates are usually very good.

I simply target products in the same manner as I do for my own websites and I do well. When built correctly, a hub can rank very well without backlinking and the structure can be manipulated in a way so that their ad program ads are pushed to the bottom and out of the way, making your Amazon links more prominent.
