AlertPay is transitioning to Payza.com

Hey Warriors,

just a second ago I got this email from AlertPay and thought it might be an interesting development. As a lot of us are aware of how AlertPay has been in decline in recent times. I'd be interested to know what all of you are thinking about this:

--------------------------

Your AlertPay Just Got Better!

Want even more services and flexibility from your favorite online payment processor? You got it!
  • Smartphone & mobile phone friendly
  • More countries and additional currencies
  • Global bank wire loaded to your e-wallet in more currencies
  • Enhanced customer support
And more!
The AlertPay that you love is becoming Payza this spring - to give you exactly these things! Thanks to a recent merger with UK- based MH Pillars Ltd, a leader in prepaid card solutions, we were able to join forces to take AlertPay to the next level of online payment processing.
On May 14, 2012, we're launching a redesigned website with more service offerings to bring you an even better online payment processing experience. All of your information will transition to Payza.com - so you don't have to do a thing! Same account number, same personal and financial information, same login & password!
Business Account Members & Developers:
Apart from a new brand name, with logos, payment buttons and banners to match, nothing changes! All of your information stays the same:
  • The same account (with your money in it)!
  • The same personal and business information!
  • The same financial information!
  • The same login and password!

BUT, you will get:
  • New service offerings (such as);
  • Enhanced customer support (phone, email, live chat); and
  • A completely redesigned and easier-to-use website! New members' area, new dev center, new checkout and login!

Get a sneak peak of the new Payza design here: http://www.payza.com.

We are really excited about the new website and the new services - and we hope you will be too!

The AlertPay (soon-to-be Payza) Team

--------------------------

Availability in more countries sure sounds promising to me!

Allen

    Hey mate,

I was actually thinking about taking all my money out of AlertPay and let them die their slow death. But now I'll observe the situation, because I like AP more than Paypal. Using Paypal always feels like a risk to me. Anyway, I hope they get something positive out of the transition. As you said, more countries is certainly a good thing, making an alternative to Paypal available to more people.

    Cheers

      Hí Allen,

I visited that link you posted.

They promise everything to attract people: they will be the "fastest, safest, easiest and cheapest". It's all very nice.

I hope that isn't a marketing ploy only. If it fullfils the promises, then I'll consider the use. I've to say I use Paypal without problem for ages.

So, I'd say: 'don't count your chickens before they are hatchhed'.

      Best,

      Sandor

From what I've read, AlertPay can't process credit cards for US customers, so I wouldn't touch it no matter what they call the company.

Agree 100%. "You can put lipstick and high heels on a pig, but it's still a pig."
Without credit card acceptance, it seems of no value to me.

Why would it be bad news if Payza actually managed to enable CC processing again? Alertpay used to have this but due to lack of management (they didn't do anything about mass forex transactions, causing a lot of chargebacks) they lost it; If payza manages to set up a new policy and follow it up, this might work out.

I know for instance that a lot of people are looking for a paypal alternative, for any reason.

I do enough online transactions that I have a personal paypal account maanager assigned to me with his personal cell phone number.

"might work out" isn't in the equation when you are talking about my money

I agree, but its not that Alertpay is not a legit company. They are a good alternative for countries who have issues with paypal, but then again that is one of the reasons they have lost their Credit Card processing...

I have no doubt about the honesty/intentions of the company Alertpay/Payza, I just hope they can get to the next level and evolve into a respectful company... I have a membership based site with 300k members and 180k use alertpay as their payment processor, so it does have potential & clients.

The new site mentions credit card processing. Have any Alertpay members checked this out?

              Thanks,

I have seen this for some time now, I think this was announced a month or so ago. Took out most of my AP funds for now and will wait and see. Hopefully everything will be just fine and Payza will take off, good for the marketing world.

AlertPay has been mostly dead. But it does have assets such as customer accounts, programming, and know-how. The "merger" is an obvious attempt to move the assets to a new company that is free from AlertPay's financial restrictions.

It may work and Payza will be a good PayPal alternative. Or maybe financial institutions will effectively shut-down the new service if AlertPay's problems are exported to the new company.

    Only time will tell.

    Need to wait and see.

    My questions are simple;

1 Who is running this new program?
2 Will you be able to use MC,Visa,Amex credit cards?
3 Or will it be only prepaid cards? as mentioned in the original post.

How are you guys verifying your Payza Business Accounts?

I just signed up and I'm going through the Bank confirmation bit, and amazingly, they only cater for UK/European countries ONLY (Except New Zealand is included in there... LOL?!)

USA and Australia is no where to be found in the country drop down menu...how the heck am I supposed to verify it now?!

I don't have business account but your best option is to contact their support.

Since they just launched it is possible that some functions are not yet fully in place.

My business account is verified as it was by Alertpay and it just carried over. Everything is exactly the same when logging into Payza as it was in Alert Pay.

I checked the site and it has US and Australian verification choice. Did you sort it out?

Nope, I just checked in the Bank Confirmation > Add a Bank Account (in the Verification Section) I hit the drop down menu and it is only UK/Europe and New Zealand.

I have however, verified a credit card (still being processed) only after receiving a random instruction from another Warrior kindly telling me that he had the same problem trying to verify it. The system won't accept "/" in the address field - WTF. I was tearing my hair out and gave up until he told me...Great way to drive away potential customers in herds!!!

Their new system has major flaws....I can't even find a support button when logged in (have to log out to get to it)

Also signed up for their credit card even though I'm not in US or Canada..lol

I had a Business Account with them (from India). The other hard stuff which is still with them is that the customers can not use to pay using the Credit Cards directly to you, infact they need to create an account, then transfer money to their account then use the balance to pay.

Still as far I understand MasterCard Processing is till not up with them.

Payza is not trademarked, has no FSA (Financial Services Authority), a suspicious owns them.

If you use them, you risk to lose your money or your CC/Bank acc numbers could be abused.

I use them only if there is no other payment method and find someone with a PP/MB acc to exchange.
