Do you really need multiple accounts to be considered an expert?

I just don't buy it which makes me wonder if I'm missing something. I have several eBooks that I've purchased about internet marketing concerning places like Squidoo and Hubpages and most of the things I read say that you need multiple accounts, each focusing on each niche.

So, I tried it and it was a mess. I lost a few of the accounts. On one of the accounts whose login information I do remember I have a lens about weight loss stuck on it and it won't transfer over. I don't know why. I don't like the feeling of dividing myself just because someone said I can't simultaneously know about weight loss, writing, and apple pie. Who says?

The thing is, I can establish myself in an expert in whatever I want and I don't feel as if that minimizes my expertise in something else. All I have to do is share a mini bio with convincing information which for me would likely include publishing credits or blogging experience.

Does anyone have successful experience with my line of thinking, or is my line of thinking setting me up for disaster?
