Hi guys, I'm about to by my first site, just agreed a price.

Are these the correct steps?

1. Send payment through Escrow

2. He transfers the site over to me, for ease, I'll use a gig on fiverr, he'll need both our cpanel and ftp log in details.

3. He then has to change the nameservers to mine.

4. He then transfers the domain, we're both on godaddy, so that's handy.

5. I check everything is in order, and tell Escrow to pay him.

Is that it?

I believe that is quite it. Though the name servers are changed automatically when transferring a website to the new owners nameserver.
Second, i would suggest also to take a look at his itraders before letting him into your cpanel.

Not sure why a gig on Fiverr is necessary, but all the other steps are fine. Just confirm that you have the domain and the site is installed and working on your host before authorizing the payment from Escrow. Then change your passwords to the hosting account.

Cool, just to make it easy, for me, cpanel is a bit of a pain.

I haven't heard back from him yet, not sure if he's worried about handing over his cpanel and ftp details...

I said I could send him mine... I have another hosting account anyway, where my my sites aren't located.
