is the money just in the "make money" niche?

i have been looking at different affiliate training programs doing my best to decipher one from the other...
reading people's reviews, watching videos etc.

my question:

it seems that the creators behind the training programs who have made significant money..
are selling/promoting/training... "how to make money online" in a nutshell...
the screenshots of their online accts showing large sums seem to be from the "make money niche."
tell me if i am incorrect here...
and obviously there are a lot of people wanting to make money online via internet marketing etc.
so they have sold a lot!

but what about other niches?
are the folks who are making "real money" mainly in the "make money" niche?
i would love to see the screen shots of the money made NOT from selling "how to make money."
now of course, i would wonder.. well did they make money in other niches before sharing and selling their wealth of knowledge...
this would make sense... as in - i've mastered it, now i can teach/sell it.
that's cool.........
do you catch my drift?
and feedback is appreciated.

thanks,
nicole

There's "big" money to be made in any "niche" with a large group of passionate people. It really is as simple as that. You won't see too many people talking about the money they make in other niches, because people who aren't in the "make money online" niche usually don't sell info products on how they make money. Quite the opposite in fact - they prefer NOT to draw attention to themselves.

The make money niche is a good niche but by far not the only one you can make money with. You should start out with something that interests you.

Any niche can be profitable, the most immediate money is usually made from people that can be considered 'desperate' hence the make money niche, acne. weight loss etc are where many buyers are. This makes these niches more popular but not necessarily more profitable.

      I agree totally.

This is how I explain it to my children.

Imagine you are walking down "My favourite hobby" street. Coming across your path is "People spending money" street.

At the intersection of those two, the place where there are buyers running into your hobby, set up a stall.

If people aren't spending money on your hobby, then...

...keep walking. DON'T set up a stall there. You will lose money.

Pick another hobby or interest and do the research again.

I know that it is simplistic, but it paints a picture of the concept...especially for pre-teens.

      Hope this helps,

No, absolutely not. Actually, there's 90%> of the money earned in non-IM niches. When you combine the health, fat loss, fitness, dieting, beauty, self-help and other giant niches, then the IM niche looks like a dwarf.

Choose your passion other than IM and the money will follow, if you put in a reasonable amount of work and time.

    Cheers,

This tells me that the types of products you are looking at are not the right ones. Stay away from anything that makes an income claim. They have nothing to do with you and nothing to do with the potential of the product.

    Your. Experience. May. Vary.

Anyways, it's easy to be cynical about where the money is made if you are looking at the newbie products pretending to be something they are not.

    • Any niche can bring you profit. You just need to find a profitable product that provides value to your targeted audience. You can make money online writing about health issues, loans, insurance, product reviews, etc. How much you will earn depends on several factors, including the advertising methods that you wish you use and your budget.

    Hey Nicole,

Everyone in here is correct in that there is money that can be made in just about any niche. If people need it or want it, then you have a shot.

Case in point, though I'm not one of the big timers, in my niche of hip hop, I am a beat maker (I make hip hop instrumentals) that I sell for artists, singers, and even businesses for that matter, who are looking for hip hop instrumentals. There is a high demand for it because let's face it, in the music industry period, there are always people that are aspiring to sing and/or rap, and there are hobbyists who want to impress their friends with music or just putting something together. So, with that said, there is a market for it.

I'm no millionaire out of it, but I do sell a decent share. And I do it because I taught myself some of the IM methods and basics some years ago which helped me to make money off of my talent and enjoyment, something I hadn't done until I learned about IM methods.

I even took it and spun it a bit further thinking outside the box, and decided to create sounds for people that also make their own beats, to which I probably sell more of than I do the instrumentals themselves! Guess there's more people in the market to make their own instrumentals that are willing to buy than there are artists who are wanting to buy instrumentals.

And in my hip hop niche, there are other people that sell a LOT more instrumentals on a regular basis and made a career out of it, implementing IM techniques of course to their niche. And in the end, that's what IM is all about... applying techniques to your own niche and making it work for you.

Sure, in this forum, you'll probably see a large percentage of WSOs focused on how you can make money and they make their money by teaching you things to help you make money, but there is money to be made though in other niches indeed.

You just have to find an interest you like, that gears and focuses to something you can offer to people in need. If you love painting and are good at it, trust me, there will be people that will buy what you have to offer as there are lots of painters out there who want to paint a wonderful Bob Ross type picture (he was an awesome painter) but don't know how... and you can create videos and sell a course teaching them how.

If you're good at gardening and have prize growing flowers, there are LOTS of people out there that want to know how to stop their flowers from dying so you can get into it as well and make an ebook and teach them how and sell it for cheap.

Biggest thing with any niche is finding an angle of it that you enjoy and that also has a following of people interested in doing what you enjoy, and of course learning all the methods you can to build more and more traffic to your site to join your site via email opt in and/or buy what you have to offer after they enjoy your free offer.

Best of luck and success to you... just know that there are many markets out there that are waiting to be fed something to help them... and that's where you need to be.

The Make Money Online (MMO) market is a very tiny, tiny market in the big scheme of the online e-commerce world. There are far too many markets, niches, and sub-niches that have nothing to do with the MMO market. In my experience, that's where the real money is.

Okay I have some authority here on this subject as a multi niche marketing dude...so I'll chime in.

The money is in any market where people spend it...

Just think about anything you might have ever purchased online.

And the easiest money to make is in any market where you really know and understand the customers.

Therefore, people that spend a large amount of time learning "internet marketing", how to "make money", and being a customer are already pre-disposed to enter that market because they know it, know where to find customers like themselves, and have a decent understanding of it.

Likewise they want to see screenies of what they can do within that market. A clickbank screenshot for example, is more compelling than a random affiliate network because it's so well known. Beginners can relate to it, and imagine their own CB zero balances warping into one chock full of sales.

but I digress... here you go.

It's not as appealing as a clickbank screenshot, but here's a partial dump of my shopping cart data to the tune of $57k in a niche that is about as unrelated to MMO in customer and products as it gets. Real money, real customers, not in MMO.

It's also important to note that the more I wanted to teach marketing and create cool software etc the less interest and time I had to devote to that business.

It's just REALLY hard to focus on lots of things. I've actually grown quite annoyed with managing both as they both end up suffering. There's only so much time in the world, might as well focus on one thing you really enjoy.

Besides, even if I did divulge that business as an outright case study, many of the most desperate and lazy customers would just copy it entirely and become my direct competitor rather than try to come up with their own unique market.

At the end of the day there are some differences and some things that are more pronounced in IM, but much of the concepts are the same. Find a market, build a list, get affiliates, do some seo, use social media, and employ different conversion booster tactics.

So there ya go, case closed.

Sure, money can be made in lots of different niches. What does "make money" niche include?

    Business consulting?
Marketing training? (not those "write guest post" kinda products, but actual marketing)
    Helping with taxes?
Running day-to-day business operations (and automating them)?
    SEO for corporations?

There is more to "make money" than the traditional IM.

If you stay on 'just' this forum, then you will definitely suffer from some confirmation bias. What ties most of us together here IS the desire to make money (generally) and for some, to 'make money online' more specifically. The majority of intelligent marketers are able to analyse trends and cater to the audience (in any niche) and so, here, we are more apt to see products (and successes) geared towards 'make money [online]'.

What you choose to DO with that knowledge is largely applicable towards ANY niche. I have started to help businesses be successful (any niche, really) by providing SEO services using methods I've learned here and modified to suit myself.

There are people that make money selling physical products, as well as digital products and ebooks where the products have absolutely nothing to do with making money at all.

You can learn a lot from this forum that is certainly applicable to any niche.

Im starting to think there's money only to be made in the make money online niche alone, I have a youtube music video that gets around 10,000-20,000 video views daily and I tried marketing a more targed product and i only get about 2-3 clicks to my squeeze page daily and i offer them the opportunity to download the music video free, put up ringtone ads, beat making software, beats and the only money I've made is with make money from home clickbank offers. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, I've listened to the Warriors advice and it has gone ass-backwards.

Forget the Make money niche , to much competition , too much work , too much of everything exept money !!! Go to 45 thingh and see what peoples need , go to yahoo answer , go to furum and check for problems to solve . Dig deeper , more deep ( i mean keyword search , competitons and so on ..) and then when you find the niche search for a product or build yourself one . Plenty of niche , very or medium profitable , create more website , rinse and repeat , remember little drop of cash here and there is adding up to quite a big bag of cash. Promote CB , CJ , AMAZON and any product you can immagine , create content constantly ping , social ,aticle directory , press relaese , and so on , THE CLASSIC WAY ...., results will come .

There's money to be made in plenty of non "Make Money" niches. Just go in to any store or even Amazon and see what people are buying. Look over at eBay and see what people are bidding on.

The thing with the "make money" niche is that it is usually a "rabid" and "desperate" crowd. So they buy and buy a lot. You don't get that in a lot of other niches.

The other thing is that most of the products that you buy that teach you how to "make money online" use techniques that are proven and tested on the "make money" niche and don't necessarily work the same (or at all) in other niches.

Many of the must-have "techniques" that are sold, only work in the IM niche... and then, usually only to the "newbie" internet marketer. The more experienced in the IM niche recognize (and avoid) many of these techniques and don't use those techniques themselves outside of the IM niche.

They are designed to attract the hungry, even desperate, newbie in the IM market.

That's a very common misunderstanding by
tons of people starting off in marketing
online. I think you might agree if I say that
if you take a look around you in the real
world... You will see tons of marketing
    attempts. Magazine ads, newspaper ads,
direct mail letters and ads, salespeople,
    gimmicks, advertisements, radio ads,
    billboards...

You see it everywhere, and that's just the
same online as it is offline. Granted, some
things can't be sold online (or are harder
    to), like an expensive car.

But the internet's grown... You can sell
physical products, you can sell digital
products, experiences, and even lines of
    CODE!

The online world has ezines to replace
magazines, email to replace mail, banner
ads to replace space ads and billboards,
    popups to replace brochures, etc...

    It's the exact same thing!

And I'll say this too. The "make money"
market exists offline too. It usually starts
with genuine offers, and then tons of
clueless people start jumping on the
bandwagon and RESELLING these ideas in
crappy packaging, without expanding on the
    information.

Most of the time, the info gets bloated,
diluted and less genuine, because time has
a habit to change and update things.

I myself make a living with easily over tens
and tens of niches. Money CAN be made
outside of the "make money" niche.

    Think of it this way...

To someone else, they might have a certain
desire that is of a higher importance than
making money. Do you think she/he'd buy
    it?

    Certainly!

    No.

And I have two points to raise here:

    1. In terms of raw numbers, health and weight loss is a bigger industry than money advice (that INCLUDES internet marketing, trading and real estate COMBINED)!

    2. Do YOU have any interests outside of making money online? Just wondering because I have a lot of them, and I can tell you there are people selling e-books, training courses, seminars and audio recordings in just about every subject I read about. There's a guru for basically everything human beings do these days. The really obvious ones are fitness (GET RIPPED GURUS), mental health (visualization and meditation gurus), and conspiracy theories (end the fed 2012 aliens nuke-proof bunker gurus), and religion (end times gurus). Those are just the really obvious ones that play to common fears and insecurities, but I bet you a million dollars you can find a farming guru or a chinese checkers guru if you look hard enough.

Just off the top of my head, here's a list of topics that I know people are making money in:

    - Dating advice.
    - Travel advice.
    - Religion.
    - Supplements.
    - Trading.
    - Real estate.

There's money to be made in almost every niche. You can promote various Amazon products, info products, etc. As long as the demand is there, there's money in the niche.

There are probably countless niches to 'make money' in. But it really depends on your interest and expertise in those areas as well.

The MMO niche probably isn't a top 100 niche. The number of people involved in the buying and selling is just way too small. It's a small pond with small fish. Even the biggest guru fish in MMO aren't all that significant in the scope of the business world. Regardless of them being labeled marketing superstars in these parts, it's unlikely that any of them could land a job as the head of marketing for a Fortune 500 company. When you look at it that way, it puts things into perspective.

There is money to be made from the money making niche but there are so many other niches that make money online.

I have 100's of sites online that make money through adsense, affiliate offers, and CPA

Just a few niches which are profitable for me are:
    weight loss,
    finance
    debt control
    embarrassing health issues
    sports
    betting and gambelling
    pet problems

There are millions of niches out there. Sell something that solves a problem, meets a demand, or something that people generally find interest in.

This could be ANYTHING. And I mean ANYTHING.

Who are working in other niches are not marketing their income and showing their big cheques. Making money online is one of the attractive one, but people are earing from many other niche as well. But, What you said is true in a sense that those people who are making money online through their making money online niche, most of the time earning from that niche only.

  • The IM Niche is probably the only niche where folks plaster their screenshots of income (Photoshopped or not) all over the web. (This is due to the fact that their product is about how to make money, thus they need to show you that they are making money). Other niches such as our Music And Multimedia Niches do not need to show income, as our products are not directly showing you how to make money. That's probably why you don't notice that other niches are making money as well. Short answer, the money is not just in the making money niche.
