I began many years ago with AWeber. Over the years I've also tested most of the other autoresponders as they've arrived on the scene, but I always remain with AWeber. Why? I like it the best.

Aweber is the fan favorite for good reasons, but they do tend to get costly as your list grows. Me personally, I use Imnica Mail. They do rival Aweber and the prices are a lot better and is very reliable. Have never had a problem : )

I've done a cost/benefit analysis of the two (IMHO) top providers here:

I think the important thing is to match the tool to the job you want it to do.
Yes I agree. Aweber does provide some tools that will make your life a little easier. I tend to work around that, and Imnica also has some nice tools of there own. But ultimately it does come down to the delivery rate and as I have said Imnica definitely rivals aweber. But if you do not mind spending the money, go with aweber. But I am happy with Imnica : )

I recommend AWeber also! They have a high delivery rate and that really makes a difference as your list grows. Building a list is one of the most important steps, choose a strong partner here! Best of Luck!

Aweber, Aweber, Aweber ! Don't risk your list to just any autoresponder. Its my opion that Aweber is a best and safe choice!

Aweber. If you work on getting only the most quality and targeted leads to join your list then cost should never be an issue.

... has anyone used World Responders?
Thanks for any input ... very basic my understanding,
and you must create your own opt in pages, etc.

    Aweber for sure.

You pay a little more but definitely worth the investment.

Besides Aweber, for starting you can try GetResponse. It is cheaper than aweber. I believe GetResponse is suitable for beginners

Like many of the comments above, I use Aweber. Why? because they have never failed me. I do not need very many shiny objects when it comes to communicating with my lists and Aweber has more than enough for me!

Effective list management and delivery is vital to my business (97% of my income comes from my lists) and Aweber will continue to have my business until they fail me which touch wood they will not (no matter what their charges are).

    Best regards

    Luke

As the poster was asking he wanted to know if there was an autoresponder that would allow unlimited people on the list and I for one would be thankful to hear one. I know Aweber is great but as your list grows you also have to pay more. Would really help if there is one that allows unlimited people on the list at the same price but if not then sticking to Aweber.

The problem with aweber besides the price is if you already have a list, you can't just import to aweber, you have to have everyone in your list re-optin...I personally find that annoying. I recommend checking out http://sendgrid.com they have very cheap rates and are used by a lot of behemoths in the mailing space.

Whilst I get people's tendency to talk about price and the want for unlimited addition of subscribers at a fixed price, I believe this mindset misses the point entirely.

Without my list, I would not survive financially. I was trying to think of an analogy and came up with the following. If you had a child and wanted to put them into a nursery would you (A) pick a nursery whose staff had no qualifications or track record or (B) a nursery who gave all their staff a criminal background check and also demanded a certain level of childcare qualifications.

The choice is obviously yours! I am not saying that Aweber is the only provider that works but for me it is robust and delivers.

    Best regards

    Luke

I can import my list into Getresponse.
Have my message downloaded into a zip file if I need to back them up.

      Don't get too excited people

Here's the full story on importing lists "GetResponse allows you to import lists in which you have the permission of all contacts to receive mailings specifically from you. Importing any lists that are: non-permission based, "safe lists", list-washed, bought or purchased, borrowed or purchased leads (with the exception of GetSubscribers) is strictly prohibited and can result in your account being closed.

It's standard policy among most major ESPs to not allow lists to be imported which are not opt-in (permission based). This is why you'll have to reconfirm the subscribers on the list when you move it.

Many IMers are concerned about moving their lists because of having to reconfirm them (being forced to send out a confirmation email to their list with a new ESP). In our case, you can contact our support team and ask to have this waived. This will initiate a process where we work with you to test the list and confirm it is indeed an opt-in, permission based list. If all is good, you can import the list with no reconfirmation.

Lots of people have questions about this process and I'm always happy to answer questions -- just PM me.

        Regards,
        jim

Or just switch. I've found GetResponse to be better than Aweber, at least in my personal opinion.

Aweber is my choice. Plus they got the $1 30-day trial, so it gives you enough time to check the system out.
