Questions about monetizing my lists

This is probably a silly question but I've never really looked at my blogs and websites as a major money maker before, just a hobby. I have a full time job I love but I also have accumulated over 30,000 emails that I send out my newsletters to. They are either work at home/IM or health and fitness niche emails.

I haven't been sending many newsletters in the last year due to a promotion at work but I've been considering selling ad space "solo ads" to my lists and just don't know whether I should or not.

Can anyone tell me if you've seen unsubscribes rise when you started selling solo ads. Maybe some tips/hints for making sure I make this transition the correct way? I sold all of my sites and am just putting the blogs on ice right now, it's just too much work for me to keep up.

I appreciate anything you guys can tell me. I've watched this forum for the last 3 years but just recently started to participate and I am amazed at how nice and helpful everyone is, thank you in advance!

Don't over do it. Most people will not unsubscribe unless you over sell to them. Of course there are always some who will but that is unavoidable.

From what you have said above i would make an educated guess that many of yoru email subscribers know and trust your name by now if you only send them info and have a low unsubscribe rate?

I would be very interested in talking with you about how to do a solo ad and of course can help you get it setup as this would be your first. Will send you a pm with my email and skype as your post count is too low to pm.

Congrats on your 30,000 plus list. I would split (if you have not already done so) your lists into buyers and non-buyers. In my experience, non-buyers lists both respond to freebie offer solo ads and will not unsubscribe.

The opposite is true of buyers on your list. Treat them like gold dust. After all why would you want them on someone else's list with the potential of losing them to someone who effectively markets to them.

    Best regards
