Hello everyone. I would really appreciate some honest feedback.

I've explored Internet Marketing over the last couple years. I've read a lot, listened a lot (e.g. Pat Flynn with Smart Passive Income), now joined this excellent Warrior Forum including the private paid Warrior Forum (great for ideas, but I'm not sure where to start...information overload). I have a lot of theory in my head.

But, I feel I need advice, a good mentor (someone who's been there, done that), or someone willing to leverage our skills so we can work together on creating something great, and some outsourcing contacts (I keep hearing that outsourcing to the Philippines is great).

Any feedback would be welcome. All the best.

    happychapsteve,

well actionable advice is simple... just do something. whether it is setting up a blog, or building yourself a landing page, or just simply picking a niche you wish to be in just do something ...

i personally say clear your mind out first, and get rid of the information overload thats the only way and restart internet marketing again. But this time focus on what business model you wish to follow and follow it through to the end.

And whatever niche you decide to go into make sure you focus on 1 step at a time, BUILD A LIST.... the most important asset in your business

goodluck, and people in this forum will certainly help hope it's helped what I have said

Great advice, Birdi. I know my biggest problem is focus. So, this weekend, I've started to focus on 1 thing. In the next couple days, going to do some keyword research and then build the site that I should have built before. And add a subscription option, with a free report to build a list :-) Thanks

    Hey Steve,

Listen mate, you can be the biggest action taker on this forum, but, if you are implementing the wrong strategy then you may see that action deteriorate over time due to not getting the results you desire.

Birdi is right, you must clear your mind out, get rid of all the get rich quick notions you may have heard, and most importantly, you MUST focus on building a sustainable business model. The failure rate is very high in this industry mate, and it's not because people are NOT taking action, oh no my friend, it's because people are taking the WRONG action.

You say you have explored Internet marketing already and have learned a lot, yes? So, my question to you is whether you are going to continue implementing the same business model from here on in? Seriously think about this one mate.

I used to tell people when i was starting out in this industry, that this is a REAL business, but to honesty, i never really got it. How could i have, all i was doing was creating website after website, building backlinks, writing reviews, promoting clickbank and Amazon products. I mean, isn't this what the majority of people are doing? Isn't the failure rate in the majority? What's wrong with this picture?

You need to focus on long-term results, you need to focus on creating a sustainable business not dependent on "uncontrolled traffic" i.e, Google. You must focus on marketing effectively, and you MUST create a list right from the outset.

I find it quite laughable that you hear "build a list" being thrown around like confetti by all the guys and girls who are ACTUALLY making money online, yet, it sounds cliche when it is mentioned. Do you know why this is? It's simply because nobody is bloody listening, they are focusing on the wrong strategies. They are NOT listening, and they are failing at such a high rate.

STOP, and really try to understand that this is a real business. This must be treated that way. Take your mindset from an opportunity seeker, to an Entrepreneurial mindset from the very very VERY beginning. Get below the surface level of understanding and plan every detail. Of course you should take massive action, but only when you are certain of what your ultimate goal is.

Are you going to follow what the majority are doing?

Best of luck with everything mate, I wish you all the success in the world.

Really appreciate your input. I need to focus, and build a list. But, I wonder if there are any mentors or helpful souls who can tell me where I'm going wrong in the process. I think I succeed better when I have more input into what I'm doing. I wonder if there is a place in Warrior Forum here, where I can get feedback on each step of my endeavours? All the best. Thanks.

I honestly think that a lot of people aren't cut out for internet marketing because they just don't have any real background in human psychology.

I'm going beyond the whole "build a list" thing. Because if you don't know what makes people tick, what words people respond to, verbal communication, nonverbal communication (which is ALWAYS SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT IMO), psychological theory, NLP, seduction, being a competent writer, an artist, these are all skills I've been developing my whole life. So when I came into marketing, in the first month I started to make better money than I have my entire life. The overall quality of my life has improved X100.

I'm a much happier person, much more motivated, I feel like I finally found my true passion in life. I just never realized all the skills I have, suit marketing perfectly.

The thing is I'm just a person who is SUPER INTERESTED in WHAT MAKES PEOPLE TICK. I have been obsessed with people my whole life. Reading psychology, doing tons of research at my university (this is another thing I feel helped me a ton because I can scan through pages and pages of information in minutes and extract key points like its my job). I have LEARNED A LOT about psychology & nlp, and I honestly think that has benefited me more than anything I can think of.

I came to this forum, found the first WSO I felt was legitimate, took action, and made a killing (this was in selling mail marketing/postcards to advertise businesses).

I hear this is very rare for a lot of people, and when I look at peoples skills, it doesn't seem like many others are quite as obsessed with psychology as I am. This will impact literally EVERYTHING YOU DO if you just really understand human behavoir.

How did I figure out that a lot of people just don't get "it"? By looking at one atrocious sales page after another on here. Far too many people are making these overly aggressive, boastful, salespages that can't sell a thing. Boasting or bragging I consider suicide when you're trying to sell something if even yourself. Writing stuff like "buy my ebook, I'm the #1 internet marketer in the world". They use half naked girls for their "social proof". I mean you have to be kidding me some of the stuff I see on here. Its really just made me realize some people do NOT understand how to sell period the end.

Thats why I will ALWAYS say, if you want to get good at marketing, you really need a solid understanding of psychology, the art of communication, but more importantly nonverbal language. I've seen it in real life when I use to be a dating coach. So many guys have no idea how to sell themself to a woman nonverbally. They buy them things, try to brag and boast about why their job is so cool, overcompliment them, flatter them with money ... women HATE this stuff. They want a MAN who keeps them on their toes. They don't want a guy who's going to validate every single thing they say. So when I market, I try to set the tone of "my service/product is the ****" w/out ever saying it one time in words.

You can NEVER make something too easy for someone or try shoving something in someones face. Plus thats where I think the real skills come in, being able to sell something indirectly to someone, without it looking like you're even trying. Everything is implied in a nonverbal way like I said. You never say directly "my product rocks". You say "so and so bought my product and had this to say about it".

SO MANY things like this that people just mess up imo. So I really think it comes down to knowing and understanding people more than even understanding marketing. Because I don't know **** about marketing, but I know A LOT about psychology, and so far I've been doing pretty decent for myself since coming here (although like I said most of my success has been in offline so far - thats another thing, if you have a hard time online, try venturing over to the offline section for a bit. I just find it more cut and direct)

    Good luck!

Thanks :-) The reason I want to succeed online is due to offline dire straights. I know I just need some focus and direction, but talking to someone who is already successfully online is, I think, what I need. Cheers
