Skype contact requests take a long time?

I have always found that it takes a long time for contact requests take a long time to get to me. If I get a request notification, it's usually from the day before. Why isn't it instant?

Has anyone else had this issue?

    I have never had to wait a day to send or receive contacts. Perhaps it is a problem specific to you?

    I have never experienced this problem before. Do you experience regular network connectivity issues or do you have a very old computer? My experience would lead to me to believe that the software is not at fault here.
