Good morning guys,

I'm new to Warrior and this is my first post, so hello everyone!...

I was wondering if you might help me out with something, I have developed a site for my wifes business that sells baby products, the site was set live on the 10th and today we are ranked #24th and #5th for two of the main keywords we wished to rank for.

The one in 24th has high competition, I wondered what would be the best way of ranking this site, bearing in mind that the domain is only 8 weeks old, and the site 4 days, I don't want to be sandboxed!

Thanks guys

Always start slow. Work on your social influence first. Get a Facebook page, Twitter account, Google Plus page, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon and Tumblr account to start with and just interact with people.

First of all ranking #24 and #5 in such a short period of time is really good. But you need to maintain and improvethese rankings.
Start with the On-Page optimization part like meta tag, alt tag, content, use of html tags etc.
Then switch to Off-Page with submissions (directory, article), social bookmarking etc. But you must take care that you don't spam bcz after the latest Penguin update Google is very strict on it.
You can also create FB, twitter youtube page n channels and can start advertising and promoting side by side.

Excuse Arkenea but this is NOT good advice.

Don't waste your time dealing with metatags! Use a good and unique description on each page (for users, not search engines). That's all. "Alt" tags have a purpose. Use them for that: Providing a description of the images to support blind people requirements.

      What works today is:
      • Good and quality content
      • Social Media Buzz
      • User behavior on the site. Like the time they spend on your site
      • Internal and external links from reputed sources (just a few quality links do the trick)
      • Good organization of the content (categories, tags, subdirectories, you know)

Web 2.0's are working fantastic at the minute. Get some articles written about the products your wife sells and get them posted on web 2.0's then hit those web 2.0's with some quality backlinks and social bookmarkings.

Don't go over the top and start hammering your sites with automated tools.

If you try to create back links to your online site, choose links from significant and credible websites. They will be very helpful to easily rank you better.

Web 2.0 sites will help you in off page optimization and it is an effective method than normal article or PR submissions. Make sure the content is of high quality with interesting information.

    Hi zeroms,

Would you mind posting your website's URL here so we can analyze it better? Our fellow Warrior's comments above are all valid to be considered. However, it's quite difficult to shoot in the air without really knowing which bird we're trying to shoot.

Welcome to the Warrior Forum. Generally, people here are nice and helpful. Enjoy!

Do you know link wheel? Write quality articles and submit to web 2.0 Sites like squido lense, hubpages on the keyword you want to rank but don't use much money keywords while you building links so your site won't get sand boxed. More over check the content duplication with copy scape premium search for every two months so your get penalized for content plagiarism.

According to me a little patience needed for the page rankings. When I started a site which has strange products, I optimized my site with these methods title tag optimization, meta tag and etc. My service provider tucktail.com has been doing wonders on my page ranks which has been consistently growing. My suggestion is, do optimize with an appropriate key words for your site.

Only Patience is required rite now.. Keep working on your website and in some time you will get to your target..

But if you try anything wrong you might get yourself banned.

Hi and Welcome to the Forum zeroms.

Starting with those results is OK.

    My advice:
    • Search for information about targeting "long tail keywords" for SEO. Long tail keywords convert into sales a lot more than generic terms.
    • I recommend to my clients to spend some money on Adwords at the beginning to experiment on what works and what doesn't. You can extract a lot of information from that Pay Per Click Campaign as well as from the statistical data available on your Hosting account.
    • Don't try to compete for the most competitive keywords (not for the moment, at least). You can rank at #1 for many precise sentences. In the end you'll get much better results. Better ROI.
    • Provide profuse specs about each product as well as additional information, personal opinions and recommendations. Write good articles. Why this product and no other?
    • Search in forums and online shops for common questions. Provide short answers there and extended ones on your site.
    • Use long tail keyword variations on the links pointing to your pages.
    • Build a mailing list.
    • Call to action.
    • Providing a good experience to your visitors helps a lot to rank in Google. Remember: Good content is king. Concentrate most of your efforts on that.

If you are not doing the SEO your self hire a company to do it for you.
Do not waste your time trying to learn how Google works.
It can take you a lot of time and with their new algorithm if you will make one mistake you will be very far from the first page.

Here are a few very basic things
    1. Start with social media presence first. Have an FB page, Google+ and Twitter account for your site.
    2. Write a few interesting and quality articles about your site's keywords and publish them on authority websites.
    3. Nothing will matter much if your site is not well built. Avoid putting too many external URLs on your site. Have unique and quality content.
    4. Link building is good but make sure you're not linking to any bad niches.
    5. Have patience!!
    Hope it helped!!!!!!

Manual backlinking is the best method. Diversify your backlinks across all the different forms (Social Bookmarking, Blog Commenting, Forum Posting etc.) and diversify the anchor texts as well.

But concentrate on commenting on high PR blog pages and forum posting. For forum posting, relevant forums are a great way to drive traffic and build backlinks. Hope this helps.

First off. There is NO sand-box. Also, with little age on your side your site is going to dance erratically any time that you go on a link building spree. Don't be alarmed. It's good for a new website to dance. Even if you send it packing into the 500+ result range for a short time.

Start by finding relevant links in your niche. Does your site have a blog? This is a great way to get some articles up on the site. Once on your site, add them to popular article directories and get a quick link.

You can also outsource your SEO. If you choose to go this route, I recommend contacting Matt LaClear and one of his great services offered here on the forum. In fact I wouldn't recommend anyone else!
